I have high hopes that this game will be the best mmo as of now.Atm all mmos are practically the same as others. Age of conan differs from other mmos but not on the extreme.

My 2cent. If you are waiting for the upcomming mmo warhammer i suggest you quit that and try this game.If you do yourself some reaserch and find pvp videos of warhammer you will see how much of a boring game it is (sit and buttonbash).

Dowloading as we speak. Got high hopes for AoC, not had much motivation for wow for a fair while now.

Im more of an PvE player, whats AoC like in that regard?
 
anyone know (links?) if there will be multiple regional servers WoW style? or just EU and US with one pvp/pve/rp for each region?

i'd be interested in this too, i'm more of a pve fan. also, are you forced to team up to complete certain missions or are they possible solo? i quite enjoyed CoH but frostfire ruined it!

next question re the pre-order, i've looked at 2 popular online retailers, 1 gives you a rhino the other a bow (i'll buy the boxed copy). in those that have played it, what will be more useful?

I'm wondering this too. I'll be needing to play with my friends back in Canada and will need to know if I need them to ship me a North American copy.
 
I know its to early but when the game releases i want to know what im doing and what character i will pick so any help will help.

I know i want to be a warrior but what kind so i went in aoc website and checked what race and class i want to be but im still not decided.

The thing i know that i will be a Aquilonian as it has warrior type classes.
But then comes a confusion.

It is aether Conqueror or Guardian. i Would consider a Barbarian but for some reason he cant use double edged weapons swords or im wrong ?

Im not fused about armor light armor even do for me. i might want dual wield two single hand swords for some good speed and damage. or one sword and a shield.

So what do u reckon whats is best class for me ? and can anyone confirm about barbarians can they use swords and etc...

like datamonkey said the monthly subscription is a bit expensive, and buying 6mths game time is only going to save you approx £8,,,, gits

Do you mean 2handed (big!) swords?

I'm going for 2h weilding barbarian. If i'm not mistaken barbarians can specialise in slow, hard hitting 2handed weapon skills which include lots of stuns and knockbacks or dual wield for fast combos and bleeds. 2H should be good for PVP which is my main aim :]

Anyone able to make a conan account? As in get a username and password to enter the game? All I get is, "The Funcom Billing System is currently down for maintenance"
 
seems to be more patches out now.

Also had to register with another name, couldnt use datamonkey as i had used that on the pvp weekend, had to use databeta :( bit weird.

Yeah I have three logins now. Tech beta, PVP beta and now Fileplanet Beta.

I also had to re-download the FP client last night, hopefully I can get it installed and patched quickly this afternoon :p
 
i was pulling down the bigger of the patches the 188mb one at 1.2mbs lastnight, fastest i had seen it from them :D

there were 3 other patches just rolled out, 2 x 16mb and a 33mb if i remember rightly, Still cannot log in though, and have to goto work now lol :D
 
So...this has probably already been asked but here goes:

Once I've downloaded the 12gb file how many patches are needed and what size are they?
 
what do you reckon witch crafting skill will be mostly profitable : Weaponsmithing , Armorsmithing ,Alchemy , Architecture, Gemcutting?
