very strange, trying to log in to grab another name and i get stuck at "authenticating with the character server" anyone else got the same problem ?

edit: resetting my connection has worked

Try restaring your comp if your getting login / patch issues, worked for me. Getting a cool 65fps with eveything maxed on my 8800GT

Hey, I am considering buying this when it comes out, and I am also upgrading my PC soon, planning to upgrade and this will be the spec after upgrade:

Intel C2D E2160 1.80GHz (I plan on OC'ing to about 2.8/3.0GHz)
2GB DDR2 Corsair XMS Ram
Radeon HD3850 256MB (PCI-E)
1280x1024 screen resolution, which is what I use on all games

How well do you think it will run AoC? And on what graphics settings with the best framerate? Low, medium or high?

What res? I'm getting around 30fps on medium on my 8800GTX at 1920x1200, although that might be my processor letting me down (only 2.2ghz, and it won't overclock)

I honestly can't believe how well the game runs. I played beta for a while and it didn't run that great, infact I thought about giving AoC a miss. I'm so glad I decided to try it anyway. The graphics look better than beta and it runs so smooth. Great game

Looks like the PvP servers got hammered that much they already had to open new ones, might try the new PvP server: Battlescar

No idea what FPS but I'd suggest a e7200 which is around £80 its the new budget overclocker, not as cheap as the e2160 but it clocks to 4Ghz with 3Mb cache instead of 3Ghz and 1Mb cache.

Its been resized but I'm playing at 1280x1024 Max 0xAA 16xAf Ingame settings Dx10 (I mean every slider full whack) and in that screenshot it was at 30fps.

So pretty good performance so far.
