Air purifiers - Share your experience...

Bumping this thread. Any recommendations for current favourite? I'm looking at the Levoit Core 200 or 300, potentially smart versions.

Things I'm keen on:

Filter availability long term, ideally affordable.

Quiet mode or generally quiet.

Smart would be nice but not deal-breaker.

For the price difference I'm inclined to start with a Levoit 200S and see how we get along. If it is helpful I'd aim to have 2 purifiers in the house long term. Maybe 3, if a smaller one benefits the bedroom. I'm interested to see if being stuffy in the morning gets better, but largely I'm hoping to reduce dust buildup.

I bought the levoit 300s, has handy app, Alexa compatible and laser thingy that tells you how bad the air is.

For some reason during the summer I get this weird breathing thing where it feels like I’m not getting enough air and constantly yawning trying to get that deep breath, which I suspect might be allergy related?

Never had allergies but can’t think of anything else and only during warmer weather I get it.

Anyhow has pretty much cured it these last 2 days. Also I guess helps with dust as my room is dust prone.

I also picked up a Core 300S this week, from Amazon Warehouse. It's quiet enough and the features work well. It did seem to drop off of the cloud service overnight which mean I lost the air quality readings for a bit.

Can't say I've noticed an improvement yet but it has only ever reported very good levels of 2.5um contaminants. I'll move it from the bedroom to the living room and see how it goes!

Yeah I couldn't connect to it last night as well working okay now though.

Can the 300s be used over night? My partner is quite sensitive to noise so assume now
In Sleep or Low mode yes. Sleep mode is just not noticeable for us though so I now use Low just so I can get more air pulled in.

Hmm, do you have hay fever?
I do, however I've just recently (last year) realised what I mistook a regular summer cold for was actually hay fever. I can't say if it has made a difference as I work away from home really. The biggest difference for me has been my chaotic sleep patterns have completely been tamed. Even my wife oversleeps with this thing running on sleep mode.

During summers yes mate. Swollen eyes, tears etc. the full waterworks. These things did help…because when I left my home in the mornings everything went pear shaped whereas I was fine at home.
