Airfield day

Some cars are very hard to see, small sports cars for example another example is when your on the motorway during the day and its tipping it down and visibility is reduced....

I didn't say you should use them randomly during the day i said you just don't use them at night, and no you shouldn't have a licence if you don't know how to spell it.

Only here would an interesting thread about an airfield day turn into a silly argument about BMW headlights on the first page. :D

Not sure how I got away with even having main beams on and no ones complained about it. :p

Was a really good fun day, certainly some good tail out action and a good few spins. :D

So what times did you get on the 2nd track? Would be good to see as I have forgotten what people got already! I got 58.3 seconds if I recall correctly.

Other road users on an airfield. I'll have to look out for them :)

It was more to do with the fact that the cars were hard to spot on the backdrop of grey tarmac and a grey sky at 3-400 meters distance.... and the last thing you want to do is have an M5 blast into you.

I always have my lights on, force of habit, mainly down to people not seeing me otherwise

cool shots,

what did the day involve?

timed laps of a cone course or could you just generally hoon about getting it sideways?

i wanna have a go on a large area to learn to control my sideways action better but not sure if this is the sort of thing i need to go to?

thanks

Dud.

but the white blob (sheep?) on the hillside maybe 1 -1.5 miles away in the distance in the 2nd pic isnt easily visbile?? :p

I'm just being pedantic. I have my headlights on sometimes and always my sidelights.

We started the day doing high speed cornering, which basically involved blasting down a straight piece of road, and then doing various things to get the car round.

One of the things you see on the vid above was when I was told to go down and just stand on the brakes and turn, ended up just turning, and slowing down from 80 to 25........ bit of a disappointment, but other attempts at it without doing that were great fun, and were basically us racing down and getting plenty of sideways action going on :D

Other thing we did was 2 cone circuits, one of which i do in the video above...

You could have laughed at the barges trying to get round the course - it felt like trying to get the Titanic round some of the bends with the DSC off :D
My car's not exactly a featherweight :p

Besides, I'd have left the DSC on. All day. And been faster than Pete's M5 because of it.

haha, the video isnt a great display of speed, its 1st gear for those corners, and 2nd gear on the straights, 2nd gear is near 70 mph, and round the corners im doing about 30, so pulling up the handbrake could have been fun :P
