Airsoft 'Echo42Video'

It all looks like a giggle til you pull the trigger and it makes the noise of a flat-battery remote control car...

I agree with the paintball thing - at least you'd know where you got hit and have some sort of reason not to stick your head out of somewhere for fear of actually being bruised.

Sorry - never understood airsoft at all. :/

Ever been shot by an airsoft weapon at the legal limits? You know you got shot, but you should know (I assume you've tried both and aren't assuming) that even paintballs won't break on contact nor even do much past tickle you.

There's only one place in Jersey for paintball, there's no scene for it so you have to go to the public places, not allowed your own weapon as it wouldn't be fair because the one's they give you are accurante up till about it leaves the barrel. Even the Airsoft clubs cheapest weapon shot relatively straight. (when it was around).

The other problem was even if the marshall saw the paintball hit you/someone else, if it doesn't break, it's not considered a hit, I don't know what the rules are like anywhere else but that's pretty stupid. Never had an issue in airsoft of someone not admitting they've been hit.

After all, it's supposed to be fun and while some people in the gaming world play bf3 and others arma, you'll always get morons who have to be vocal and outspoken to show how childish one on the other is, where as you have some of us, like I who actually like both.

Although everything I've said is relative, public games are nothing like costly competitive games and one club is nothing like the next.

looks like a complete cluster**** tbh...

If you're going to give up your spare time to do this then why not do it in a useful capacity:

http://www.army.mod.uk/join/20080.aspx

http://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/Careers/Maritime-Reserves/Royal-Marine-Reserves

You'll learn how to do it properly, you'll get to play with bigger toys and you'll have the chance to do it for real.

What a troll, you're damaged to even think anything in this thread is comparable.

Theres a difference between weekend fun with (airsoft) guns and serving the country mate. As an airsoft fan and a serviceman, the two are pretty much exclusive IMO. PS you forgot to include RAF REGT reserves in that list.

Just trolling ^
I got shot by a bb yesterday that drew blood, I would like to see a paint ball penetrate the skin?
We do this for fun, you cannot compare this to fighting in the forces at all

So you've never actually played it then? You can feel it quite well trust me. If it hits an unprotected part like the legs, arms or if you're not wearing a vest you're probably getting a bruise too.

Each to their own guys! Not having a pop.

I've been shot by an airsoft gun once before, probably just not the right sort or in the right place I guess.

Good on ya either way for doing something you enjoy and outdoors! :)

If it was a cheap spring pistol or something it was probably about half or more the power of most of the guns people use for airsoft. You also tend to get hit by several at the same time so you definitely feel it more than just 1 shot. Not played it in a while actually but it can sting quite badly sometimes.

Must have to rely a lot on honesty in Airsoft if you have been shot?, unlike paintball

I didn't think it was comparable... like I said - the videos looked like a complete cluster**** was just a suggestion that perhaps the participants time would be better placed

Nah, I didn't forget...

People still try and cheat in paintball and they don't always break, if people are cheating though people will catch on quickly and they'll be made to stop playing if they keep doing it. Most of the people I've played with seem to be good sports.

Totally agree, you cant knock it untill you try it. Its an activity that people enjoy at the weekend, slightly different from actually joining the army. Could say the same thing about paintball, they might aswell join the army cos they play with guns haha

Well you asked for opinions on the videos you posted...

If someone posted a bunch of vids of them and their mates dressed as F1 drivers and racing each other, badly, in dodgems at the local fair then I'd probably also suggest that they might want to learn to do it properly. Perhaps trying a low cost form of racing at the weekends etc...

Joining a reserve unit and learning to do it properly was just a suggestion anyway...

I shut off the video when you said 'Salam' to someone. From what I did watch, it looked pretty boring, walking around etc etc. Much rather play paintball and run round like a loon and actually do something.
