Airsoft ??

The best place to start would be to find your nearest local site.

Go to a couple of games (rent some gear from the site) and decide if you like it, if you do your local site should be able to organise a UKARA membership for you after some criteria have been met at which point you can start collecting your very own armoury.

Luckily my wife doesn't seem to mind the fact that our office contains two replica assault rifles, a shotgun and three pistols along with various bits of military kit and webbing.

very tempting! It seems The Asylum is my most local
Bunker Wood and The Outpost being very close too...

So what do you do, just turn up on a day or do you have to book? best to with friends?

It rather depends on your site, my local one requests that you book using their website and pay a deposit ahead of time for any rental guns and equipment you need. But I would imagine that varies from site to site.

I started out going with friends but it's not essential as I've found most of the airsoft community to be really friendly and accepting of new players, so you'll more than likely make some regular airsoft friends after a few visits.

Excellent, Thanks :) - Just noticed that they have a couple of Open Days at my local one, 1st and 15th December, could be a good time to go I suppose!

Yeah they'd probably serve as a good intro.

I'd advise that you layer up for airsofting in the winter as well, because at the start of the day you'll be freezing but by the end you'll be sweating like a pig (if you're doing it right ;)) and it's handy to be able to adjust your clothing level accordingly.

Also decent footwear is a must.

Sold my ICS AK-47, how do I go about shipping it? I can't find a box that will over the dimensions (105cm x 40cm x 8cm). Tried finding a custom made box from an online retailer but no luck, they dont do them that big.

I've sold it with the carry bag so was thinking of filling the bag with bubble wrap with the gun inside then wrapping the bag with plastic?

Fill the bag with bubble wrap and wrap the rifle as well? Then wrap the bag in lots of bin liners taped up? Send by courier.

Anybody by any chance wanting to off load a VFC HK416 variant? Out of stock everywhere :(

Got myself a new JG G36C

Very happy with it :) Need a 2 point sling, probably end up sing a laptop bag strap instead. Can't justify spending £10+ on something that does the same job.

Serious?!

I'd drop the £10 and be sure its not going to fall off the sling!

Well 4 months after starting airsoft I've now spent way too much cash:

VFC HK416 with T1 red dot and Element surefire replica
KWA SIG P226 with blackhawk holster
ESS Turbofan goggles
5.11 UBACS and combats
5.11 gloves
5.11 sling
Ex issue Iowa boots
Pantac CIRAS and battle belt
All the other stuff, bags, cleaning etc.

A lot but this is by far the best hobby I have had + losing weight from going every week has done wonders.

Does anybody play in the Manchester area?

Nice kit :) I play in Manchester with First and Only, check out their webiste. Im sure a laptop bag strap with do fine, if it can hold a 15kg fully loaded case it won't struggle with a 3kg gun.

Yeh I went, the other game went on for too long doing nothing for a night game.

I want to go to Anzio but we all live Central Manchester and sold our cars. Thinking of renting and going down though. Going to the Precint13 this weekend, looks like a tiny site though.
