Airsoft ??

I've got a standard raider that I use when conditions in the field aren't very fun (ie: heavy raining). Its a very good gun, especially since I believe the later models (including that one) come with a tight bore barrel as standard.

8.4v battery is fine, trigger response and ROF will be better with a 9.6v though. ASG mask should be fine, I've had problems with their guns before and wouldn't buy again, but its hard to go too far wrong with a mask. I still wear a full face mask, seen too many teeth knocked out/snapped.

Blaster is a good BB brand as well, so a pretty good deal.

Awesome! Thanks for that. Was hoping to hear from someone who actually owned one as all the reviews on youtube are basically identical and just list the features. Think I might go for that bundle.

Oh also do you know if there is much difference between the first one I linked and the R8-L http://airsoftzone.co.uk/airsoft-gu...-r8-l-bright-green-with-red-dot-sight-aeg-gng
to warrant the extra £20 cost? Apart from no fixed front iron sight and red-dot sight. Think I would prefer iron sights for now

The R8-L is a lovely gun and the red dot sight is definitely worth the extra £20.
Bare in mind that the R8-L is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches longer than the Raider-L. Not "unmanageably" long, but something to consider if you're going to be taking it into CQB.

Trust me when I say that you won't prefer iron sights to a Red dot after you've spent some time using them, there's a reason why Red Dot sights are used by almost every military in the world now.

Hm well now you're tempting me. Was thinking about turning it into a DMR as some point so the R8-L will be the best bet for this?

As for the red dot sight, I'm used to the ones you get on cheapo <£40 guns so I guess I haven't really used a decent one before :p

Does anyone here go to Airsoft arenas in London and/ or know any places that are decently priced/ worth looking into?

Thinking of joining one. All I've got so far is a CYMA G18C so will probably need a rifle also but in the meantime just getting ideas.

Primary how I want it now, picked up a genuine Kobra sight for the AK and PBS suppressor.

Tokyo Marui ak102 with AK74m front grip.

That's damn nice, once I get my UKARA I think my first purchase is going to be an AK-74/10* of some sort. How much was the Kobra?

£200  There isn't any decent replicas out there, the one that is appears to be made of cheese and breaks after a few uses. The replica costs about £60-70 imported as well.

I like running my Russian loadout as you don't get lost in the sea of wannabe seal team 'operators'. Saying this a pair of jeans and shemagh suit an ak but dressing up is a big part of airsoft for me!

Do you guys use gas pistols at all? I am tempted by one (because of the realism as opposed to fixed slide AEP), but seeing the issues some of the guys had the other weekend has put me off a bit. Thinking I might go for an electric MP7 as a backup gun

Gas Gas Gas Gas, so much fun.

Get a Tokyo marui hi cappa, glock... I've used mine all year round (glock) and no matter the temperature its never failed once.

Also got a Tokyo Marui gas Mp7 which is the same.

The cold hampers a gas gun, but I am not sure how the Co2 Fares in colder air, it could be better/ worse.

I think the hybrid guns are a good idea though. But I am not sure if you can get pistols like that.

Do you use straight propane and lube it yourself (lel :p) or green gas?

My local site don't allow CO2 :(

I use Abbey Ultra gas and it's fine, I have used propane mixed with silicone now and again. The TM's are plastic but I have a metal slide on my glock, I really would recommand a TM g17.

I had a KWA p226 and it refused to work in anything but warm days.

I will probably switch to abbey 144a when it gets really hot.

Awesome thanks, will have a look into the TM ones. Do you regularly lube up the slide etc? Will just need to get used to looking after it a bit more than just having to charge the battery on my AEG :p

Rarely needs maintenance. It's a plastic slide (unless you change it) so no lube needed. Just cleaning every few games and some silicon oil in certain parts. The mags need a bit of silicon oil and a bit of gas for storing after games.

Use WE Nuprol gas and you will never have temperature issues again. mate of mine put his bag in the freezer and then put some of this gas in, fired flawlessly :)
