Airsoft ??

Check F&O facebook page, I think there was a few of you. This is just from a Marshalls phone, some better pics should be up today.

Haha I did play rather aggressive Sunday, sometimes you can push and sneak round the back at the Hive, worth a go :)

Don't see any on their page :(

Precinct 13 is back on though! I'll be going Sunday 27th April

Upgrading my gun with the following:

1. MOFSET and low resistance wiring
2. Transfer to Deans connector
3. Gearbox tuning (Shimming, Metal Brushes, Angle of Engagement)
4. LiPo Battery
5. New Motor (neodymium magnet motor)

Anyone got any experience with this Warrior L96?

I'm torn between that and the AGM M14 http://www.geniestuff.co.uk/m14-rifle-agm-mp008-aeg-airsoft-two-tone-green.htm

Not sure whether to go for the L96 and then a small auto SMG for CQC, or just go for the M14 which could do both (and then just a pistol).

Thoughts?
Both those guns are pretty pants. All the china Bolt Action rifles develop lousy accuracy until substantially upgraded, often costing far more than the original price of the rifle.

The AGM M14s are pretty shocking out the box, they're clones of the Marui M14s with some differences so they won't take all aftermarket parts, and their stock performance is iffy. Aside from that, M14s are LONG and make poor CQB weapons unless you're extremely skilled.

ThundTurtle take a look at the new Firecracker from G&G

Cheers guys. Do you have a link to that elrasho? Had a quick google but couldn't see anything under that name (I may just be being blind).

What would you recommend as a good rifle for <£200 ideally? An M4 variant? Don't want gas so electric or bolt action (although electric is probably better for CQC)

Think I'm going to have to start going again, I haven't played for over 6 years now! Have a CA G36C and a TM P226 and a KWA Glock 19 but after the VCRA was passed I wasn't 18 yet so I got kind of put off by the two tone rifles and stuff if I wanted anything new. Looking back it didn't really make sense to stop playing but I was young and I've been missing it for a while now. Only problem is I've become very unfit so I'm going to be a lot more achy than last time and out of breath a lot. Also other than guns and some BBs most of my kit is gone too.

Truth be told it was everyone's shiny new toys that made me want to start playing again!

I have one with a folding stock, takes a bit of getting used to if you have never used an airsoft sniper before. Not a bad peice of kit either.

Million and one questions.... sorry I know I'd find the answer to these through this thread and online but so far I've found mixed bunch of answers and feel the response would be better from you guys directly. Thanks in advance :)

Where are the best places for Airsoft near East London/Essex? Before spending cash on my own gear I'd like to try it out, so who provides good quality rent gear too? Is it possible to take your Gopro and attach it to gear/helmets at these events?

If I was to purchase the gear which online retailers are decent? Which is best for accuracy: electric, spring or compressed air? What are the better brands and ones to watch out? I like the idea of modding the guns, what's the best route and logic? Any other tips or comments welcome.

Again, thank you guys for all comments.

You'll be fine with trainers at F&O's Leamington site, that's where I did my first game a couple of years ago and they are super friendly/welcoming. Amazing site as well and a real work out because you will be running up and down flights of stairs at full pace all day.

Not so much now unfortunately as the site has been demolished. F&O have opened a new woodland site just outside of Leamington now.

Ah that's a real shame about the Leamington site :(

With regards to which bolt action is best, for a first gun the answer is neither. They are a acquired taste and its fair to say that the majority don't get on with them. Much harder to use, much harder to be effective in a game, much harder to get working properly and much more frustrating when you shoot someone from 70m, and they don't take the hit because they can't see where it came from.

I use a PS/G3 DMR AEG at 400fps locked to single fire. Its a good compromise for the sites where I find a little extra range is preferable to automatic fire.

I really rate the combat machine (CM) range, but I would go for one with a longer barrel that the one shown earlier, its debatable if it really makes much difference, but then I'm running a 650mm in the DMR :D Go for an AEG for your first gun, much easier due to being able to run hicaps (larger magazines) and much less to go wrong imo. A CM should be able to run a 9.6v battery out of the box as well for better rate of fire.

I'm thinking about going for one of these now http://airsoftzone.co.uk/airsoft-gu...al-with-cm16-m4-raider-l-bright-green-aeg-gng

Seeing as the gun alone (with no battery or charger) is normally about £150 :D

I've got a standard raider that I use when conditions in the field aren't very fun (ie: heavy raining). Its a very good gun, especially since I believe the later models (including that one) come with a tight bore barrel as standard.

8.4v battery is fine, trigger response and ROF will be better with a 9.6v though. ASG mask should be fine, I've had problems with their guns before and wouldn't buy again, but its hard to go too far wrong with a mask. I still wear a full face mask, seen too many teeth knocked out/snapped.

Blaster is a good BB brand as well, so a pretty good deal.
