Akasa Eclipse 62's Club... Desktop & Machines.

*Puts hand up*

Just ordered my Eclipse-62. Cost me £69 inc delivery, gotta love B Grade! ;)

Will be building the system early next week, i'm really looking forward to getting a system into this case, given my last one was a Sugo SG03 (pretty cramped).

£69  A bargain... Look forward to seeing some pictures ;)

Paxmate is just a cosmetic way of finishing off the looks of the cases base, I do like the window panels makes a massive improvement on the apperance, If you see my last build you will see what I mean..:D

Okay, problem.

As I said above, the case is B Grade.

But I seem to be missing just about all the screws that come with the case (a whole bag of various things like motherboard risers, backplate screws etc) and as a result, I can see the build being problematic. After all, I can't do anything without motherboard risers can I?

What do you suggest? Returning it? It cost me about half what the new one is.

Not a problem M8... I will look in my PC tool box and see what I have this evening (At work now) Have built a few Akasa Eclipse's so I will have some spare components..;) The most important screws you will need are the Motherboard risers, all the other screws like the backplate screws are generic so any PC screws will fit there fine.. I will reply this evening Tute...

I ended up buying a bag of random screws from a well known high street retailer.

In the end, I was worried OcUK would just ask for the case back and i'd have lost myself a bargain, so I stumped up the few quid. Still cheaper than an Eclipse-62 new!

The person before me really had a go though - polystyrene packaging was all trashed, no screws, also no drive brackets and no case fans either. :o

Glad you got your screws for your case, look forward to seeing pics of your new build...

Still a "work in progress" at the moment...

The following inside...

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
DFI Lanparty LT X48-T2R
2GB G.Skill NR-6400
Sapphire ATi Radeon HD3870X2
250GB Hitachi Deskstar
Samsung SATA DVD-RW
Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic
Zalman CNPS8000 CPU Cooler
Corsair HX620

More money coming my way on Friday, plus I have a Raptor currently on RMA that's going straight in there. The CPU cooler is going to be a TRU-120 Extreme as soon as I can source one, and it's going to be paired with a pair of 12V Yate Loons. The RAM is going up to 4GB (probably Ballistix).

What do people recommend as case fans? Need something good but quiet as well.

Oh, and not only is this case big, but my god is it heavy!

Almost did my back in lifting the thing last night :o

Looking good Tute...:D

not always true :p if you keep it tidy ish when going along it saves a lot of time later on

I was suggesting cable management is *primarily* the last thing you concentrate on once you have finished a build... I wire all my components last, as wiring during a build can at times restrict hand movement in the case and they also seem to get in the way...

Oh my god is there a lot of space!

Even with my motherboard in there I honestly think I could get an additional microATX board in next to it! (Although i'd never try that ;))

I'm *really* impressed with this case, ain't been this happy since my.... my....

...nope, this is the best case i've owned! :D

On a side note, BFG9000 do you use MSN? Any chance you could add me for a chat?

Hi M8.. Yes I do have MSN, are you having any problems with your build...

is there a lot of room in the eclipse ?

The pictures in this thread will give you a good idea of the amount of room in the Eclipse..:) I have tried other cases on the market over the last few years and I have always gone back to the Akasa Eclipse 62.. Lots of space, good cooling, every panel removable, optional windowed & fanned panels, a breeze to build in... I could go on!!! I highly recommend buying this case...;)

lol :p

I really love the look of the case and am seriously considering getting one but really wanted to know about the cooling on air potential as it gets a bit expensive changing cases all the time!

The cooling on air potential is fantastic, I have built a lot of high spec systems around this case and all my components have kept nice and chilled, look at my last build log in this thread to see..

@ bfg9000, im thinking of replacing the standard 120mm fans in my eclipse, what would you reccomend for good quiet fans that supply a decent airflow, i was considering akasa ambers but i noticed theyre led fans, im looking for something that aint blingy that moves a lot of air and is fairly quiet.

The only fans I have ever used are the blue amber Akasa fans, they do push a lot of air and the leds are not to bright so don't bling the case too much....
