Akasa Eclipse 62's Club... Desktop & Machines.

Welcome to the club :D

PS - I have now finished stealthing my rad with mesh, and i've made a rather spiffing mesh FDD bay cover that works a treat. I'm at a LAN all weekend so going to get someone with a good camera to take some nice night pics so I can show off :D

Looking forward to seeing your creation HeX..

I just had to post this.

My Eclipse.... a year on.

I've had my Eclipse almost a year now and finding my case getting louder by the day.
My Eclipse is located in my front room and noise wise is very quiet. I have two 120mm fans front and rear both on a fan controller. I find the sides of the case rattle almost all of the time. This can be muted for a while by either taking the side panels off or slacking off the screws slightly... but the noise comes back.

I've just recently re-located by case on the floor. The case now makes a humming noise which is very slight but very irritating. I have rebuilt my rig a number of times. All of my fans are attached with rubber gromits.

I've had three cases in the same location/position with the same internals and never had such a issue.

I know I'm not the only one, Tom84 mate, show your face! :)

Anyone else?

Other than that, I can't fault the case for space.

Had my Eclipse for over two years and never had a problem with vibrations or humming noises from the case or panels... Just make sure panels are locked in place and case thumb screws are finger tight.

How the LAN go HeX.... any case pics....

Put mine in the 5.25 bay supported with a HDD cooler, this I found best as the front 120mm case fan was not obstructed in cooling components...;) My build pics are on page 33-34 of this thread...

sweet, but if i do put it in the bottom off the hdd rack is it fine in the very very bottom? i.e the slot below the lip? basically have to remove the drive to get to.

awesome build bro.

Thanks M8..;) As long as there is enough air circulation around your HDD I can't see any problem... I put mine as you can see in the second 5.25 from the bottom, I just wanted to ensure the two HDD fans on the caddy got unrestricted air flow....:)

Thanks for the inspiration guys and cheers for the help BFG m8.

had a re-arrange, i'm not going too nuts with tidiness as i'm not using the side window. i'm doing a windowless build (mirage again) for my next build then i'm going for the dirty neatness like BFG's, carpeting the lot :)

that will be my second build, probably in a years time.

anyway, here's how i've got it now.

Very nice work....

quick question,

the other 5.25" bays on my mirage have metal guards that can only be removed by snapping them off, literally breaking the metal. is that correct? or am i missing something?

thats what i'm going to do the 5.25" hdd mounting with.

The guards come off if you wiggle them to and fro... they also can be re-attached to the case with screws if required.

I got my bro to spray up my old kama bay a matt black as it was scratched up a bit (and matches the P182 better). I stole the fan filter from the front of my Mirage and put that infront of the fan and used some rubber grommets I had from some old fans to give an extra couple of mm's from the fan itself and the filter.

Nice idea...
