Akasa Eclipse 62's Club... Desktop & Machines.

Not posted in a while even though I've upgraded my spec a fair bit. I'm currently having to live at a friends house due to major house renovations on my home. Will be great to get back into my own home and get my desk set back up again as the temporary setup I have here is so blooming cramped...

...especially in comparison to what I was used to:

Anyway here is how my Akasa Mirage used to look like inside:

And now: (could do with a bit better cable tidying though)

The clearance between my HD2900pro heatsink and the X-FI Xtreme Gamer isn't has bad as it looks although I'm having to use a PCI wifi card at the moment (which will be removed asap) so I can access my mates internet connection.

Been considering a kama bay myself and would love to move my hard drives into the 5.25" bays but I'd also like a 2nd Optical Drive (perhaps a blu-ray reader) so that puts me in a pickle really as I can't have both

Excellent pics M8.... Those Antec Spot Coolers are an excellent edition for cooling memory modules...;)

just ordered a replacement front for my mirage as my current one has 2 clips on the right hand side broken from when I first bought the case over a year ago and snapped the the first time i opened it been a bit loose ever since. Had a choice of all 3 of the fronts but went for the mirage again as its my favorite :D

£21.15 including delivery direct from akasa UK.

Good price by Akasa for replacement front panel... have you receiveded it yet.

Sweet. I knew the eclipse/mirage was a re-badged case. Still my fav though. Most cases in that price bracket are of the same quality...they are all over priced IMO regardless of weather they have been designed from scratch or not.

Can you get it in black?

Still trying to source it in the UK...... the journey continues :D

coming on tuesday, but the build will be over 4 weeks. I will however take loads of shots on tuesday and uploaded them straight away.

I'm selling my mirage to a mate for £60ish and doing a full re-build for him at the same time so expect some side by side shots.

got the omega for £130 so minus the £60 its not too extreme £70 and i'm really looking forward to the build.

looked at tons of cases but the inside always looks wrong in comparison to akasa. Just love the look. Clean simple and open.

Is the interior of the Mirage the same as the Omega??? Looking to buying an Omega just going to wait and see what your opinions of the case are... ;)

Hmmm - I'm looking through all the stuff associated with these and quite frankly I can now remember how annoyed I was at the time with all the people who said - Oh yes, I'd pay £200 for an Eclipse with a full alloy front, but it would have to have...

A door
Two doors
Two 120mm fan ports
etc. etc.

Basically every one would have had to have been custom made for anyone to have been happy, and in the end I sold them back to Hoojum for scrap as part of the hefty bill I'd run up with them (including buy a new Eclipse to take measurements from).

When push actually came to shove, no-one would actually put their hand in their pocket, at which point I realised there was no market and binned the project.

I must have pictures somewhere! I just can't seem to find any, except of the standard type front, which just looks lik ethe ordinary case (another reason no-one would buy one - it didn't look special, just nothing for the no-plastic snobs to take pot-shots at). Bitter? Me? Never!

Shame they never took off... sound like they were pretty cool front panels...
