Akasa Eclipse 62's Club... Desktop & Machines.

That particular photo was taken last week just after i had fitted the new mobo and psu in my eclipse. Have 2 new black arctic cooling fans coming next week, and ordering the window panel and a black TRUE120 cpu cooler tomorrow.

Desk is FAR too tidy, mine looks like an explosion in a spares factory :D

More crap round my desk atm lol, needs a good tidy, loads on the floor and behind my chair you can't see as well :o

Some of my box collection, again loads you can't see as those boxes are double layered and some are in the wardrobe and shed :o

Apols for poor poor pictars, crappy camera phone was all I had to hand.

Crikey:D. I only thought i had a lot of bits lying about. Albeit just out of picture to the right side of my desk is the wardrobe and like yourself i keep a lot of stuff on it. and further to the right is my old tsunami case and my athlon 1800 backup machine. Not to mention a few drawers of bits and bobs. We tend to hoard a lot us pc users:D

Sweet. I'm gonna mount a lian li ex-33 in the omega, I like the sythe kama bay but the fit isnt great and you cant get to the filter.

**snip**

going to either remove the back and spray it black or remove it all together and suspend the hard drives behind it. then rip out the spare cages, taking out the cages totally elevates akasa cases imo.

Was considering mounting my HD's behind a Kama Bay myself until I saw Tetsu's post above. My PC's airflow was quite bad and the cable management had become horrible... (see below pic)

...so I bought a Lian Li EX-34N to mount in my Mirage case which has made quite a nice difference overall.

Shame about the rats nest at the very top of my case though a fan controller might help alleviate that in the future.

The only small gripe is there is a small gap at the top of the fan grill (see above picture) but otherwise I'm very happy with the results.

Below are some close up pictures of the EX-34N for anyone that's interested in it:

That fit is a lot better than the kama bay mate. good stuff, inside looks a lot better.

How easy is it to get an the filter on that bay? do you have to unscrew it?

I use to have a Kama but now I just stick the HDs in a CD bay without any airflow. The Eclipse/Mirage keeps cool enough that I don't see a need.

The filter can just be just picked out with your fingers. The only problem being that since I have an optical drive above the EX-34N, I'd have to remove it to get at it from above.

I did consider mounting it higher up and having the optical drive below it so it'd be easier to access but I just didn't want to lose that extra little bit of air flow over my ram and cpu.

For me the main issue is that I have a HD2900pro with a fairly substancial overclock blowing all the hot air upwards inside the case and then you also need to consider that the Q6600 of mine has 1.575v running through it to get it's 3.24ghz overclock stable.

The ambient temperature inside my case can get quite warm and that extra little bit of airflow from the EX-34N Lian Li bay does make a fair bit of difference to me.

Not to mention the bottom front fan isn't impeded anymore

Very nice work M8...

I did prety much the same thing but with an Antec 900 HDD cage, could do with a black fan in there though.

Was thinking about cutting the bottom of the front panel out and fitting another 900 HDD cage there for optimal airflow.

Yeah it does look good, I quite like the white fan, there's other white details on the face so dont think it looks too bad.

SO BFG you decided on your next case? another antec?
