Akasa Eclipse 62's Club... Desktop & Machines.

I still have the classics...an original Akasa Eclipse 62 with extra AMD etched side window and the original box. Also a 2002 Globalwin 802 OCUK Coolercase Tornado (sounded like one!) in rare black with replaced gold fan grills and quieter Akasa fans (originally 4x YS Tech 120mm).

Both have been in storage and I can't find a use / part with them. Both in very good condition (some wear and tear in places). Still have their spare fascias etc. I know in the past case king Yewen was after one.

Wow... true retro classics :) More pics to come I hope ;)

Apologies for the thread revival!

Just dug one of these out of storage as I'm looking to do a build in the new year with possibly a 5900X and 6800XT.

I'll only be air cooling, and wondered how this case will stack up today, or will even a cheap £50 case blow it away! ;)

It was a good case in its day (I owned one & posted pics in this very thread a few years back) but things have moved on. It was good that you could take it to bits easily & it had castors included but there are fittings for only 2 120mm case fans. You need more than that (at least double) these days for modern hardware, AMD Ryzen needs good cooling & their cards have a reputation for toastiness.

Something like this:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £61.09 (includes shipping: £11.10)

You could take the fans out of the 62 & put them in the Phanteks.
