Although this doesnt make it right i think George Best is a different matter, although he was a great footballer, hes long since lost my respect and im sure many people feel the same way. Man United fans on saturday were singing "should've been another 96" and many other songs covering Hillsborough, Heysel and Michael Shields and this was seemingly the whole allocation as they were all clapping along, it wasnt a minority.

It doesnt make it right. Its going back to the bad old days. (Or in the case of some idiots, a return to the good old days). As soon as one person starts singing about it then regardless of whether the UTD masses have been silent or not then its all forgoten. You just end up degenerating to the idiots level. Its the few idiots who give a bad name to everyone

Aye , lets all go to games hold hands with each other and hum auld langsyne.

Football crowds these days are to nicey nicey and its no wonder the atmosphere is dead in most stadiums.

Playing at home isnt the advantage it used to be , home crowds of 30 to 40 k people are often drowned out by 2 to 3000 away fans.

I want opposition fans and players to feel intimidated and threatened , every referee's decision to be hounded by the faithful.

Ahhhhh But that wont do for the Premier league and its world wide audience on Sky TV.All this vitriol, hatred and viloence makes Uncle Murdochs clinical and clean product look very very bad.

Im sure at Old Trafford opposing fans arent placed above or below each other, because its much better laid out (and has greater capacity), so there hasnt been the opportunity.

There are areas where home fans sit above away fans, especially at big games like Liverpool, where the away capacity is increased.

I think its more to do with the modern games clientel.
Like stupid women reporting people to the stewards for swearing.

The funniest quote I heard on this today was on the Radio 1 news. They asked two rival supporters what they thought and the Liverpool 'fan' said that it was more likely Man Utd fans attacked the ambulance and pretended they were Liverpool fans.
Yeah - OK.
