Alex Jones..

No that is not what I am saying. I am not talking about who is responsible or who should be sued.

You are saying

I don't think any of them actually give a **** about his opinion. What they do give a **** about was getting abused by his fans.

Well, seeing they are suing Alex Jones or not his fans, you clearly thought wrong, evidently. (Although granted his massive pot of money has something to do with it, but still, he is the one they are suing).

I don't think Alex Jones intended to cause people to commit violent actions simply by making accusations that turned out to not be true. He had been doing a show on conspiracies for a long time, he didn't do that show in order to get people to commit violent acts, there was no intent by him.

He knows full well the state of the conspiracy loon/righties in the USA and their propensity for violence.

All these arguments about "not intended to cause harm" by Alex Jones.

Was my "forum doesn't allow medical posts" not a good enough example? I don't think anyone who recommends any medical advice is intended to cause harm...but we can't because the forum would be potentially held liable for creating a platform for this to take place should such advice result in harm.

Is free speech enshrined in OcUK's non-existent constitution?

Does anyone think there is such a thing as total freedom of speech? I dont think so and nor do i think there should be.

I would say we have freedom of speech.......... followed by a bunch of small print. IF we had full freedom of speech how could Slander ever be a thing?

You were right. My bad, I didn't realise that Alex Jone prior to Sandy Hook was so well respected that he was on the same level of mainstream media and that his opinion on things mattered to a vast majority of population.

Feel free to take this as a win. Have a nice day.

I mean really it depends what you said, the details matter, if you said "I believe this person may be a child abuser for X reasons" then you should be allowed to state that even if you are proved to be wrong. You aren't allowed to state "I believe this person is a child abuser and someone should do something about them", or something along those lines. People like Jimmy Saville don't get caught because people are afraid to speak out, "oh what, Jimmy the bloke from the TV who does all the charity work abuses kids? You're crazy man".

People need to be allowed to say things and be wrong. There will be times when someone like Alex Jones accuses someone of something that seems to be crazy and they'll end up being completely right, and in the world we're creating we'd choose to silence that person.

Why are you always so desperate to defend the most despicable people?

Freedom of speech, especially when you use it to knowingly spread lies that cause hatred and harm, does not mean freedom from consequences. Hopefully they'll bend him right over when they sentence him.

Why would his lack of popularity before Sandy Hook be a defence, nevermind an acceptable defence?

I think its simple

What you are seeing played out is one of the target demographic being influenced in the way the people attempting to do so aim.

I'm under the impression this isn't a criminal case, so the free speech argument isnt really on the stand. It's a civil case, so the bar is lower.

It will be interesting to see how it goes though.

I don't watch Info Wars you clown

No need for the personal attack

I was just exercising my free speech to point out that I believe you appear to hold a lot of the triggers necessary to be part of the demographics they target
Thats not a criticism of you its shows what they are doing is working
The fact they can get you to jump to defence and whataboutisms is the evidence.
You post just demonstrates that yet again.
