Alex Jones..

Bumping this thread now that InfoWars has filed for bankruptcy in an attempt to evade Sandy Hook lawsuits.

You love to see it!

Given his behaviour in and towards the court in the cases, and the way that any bankruptcy gets scrutinised I suspect this could come back to hurt him if the bankruptcy court decides that he's either tried to hide assets*, or has done this purely to avoid the payout.

He was found to have been lying to the judge the other week claiming he had a doctors letter saying he was too ill to attend court (even virtually), and the Judge became aware that at the same time he was "too ill" for the court, he was broadcasting live from the infowars studio.
IIRC the exchange with his lawyer who was in court was the sort of thing that apparently no lawyer ever wants to be on the receiving end of, and included the judge basically telling the lawyer "I don't care, you have 15 minutes to get a response from your client or someone who can speak for him" as to why he was broadcasting from a studio when he'd told the court he was too ill to attend.

*basically the difference between losing everything when you go bankrupt after the proceedings, and losing everything and ending up in jail for committing perjury and fraud by hiding assets from the court.

What's the value of a statement with a gun to your head.

The instant he's out he'll go back to grifting and saying he had no choice (and he'd be right) to go back on his conspiracy theories.

Thread bump

Seems like he's finally admitted he was talking utter bull poop about Sandy Hook being faked: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-62415376

Also a spectacular own goal by his legal team in that text messages from his phone were sent to the other side. I'm not feeling any sympathy here for him though :D

I mean, he admitted this a long time ago and apologised, it just wasn't reported. He did it on Joe Rogan a couple of years ago.

I think the reaction and hatred of Alex Jones is basically as if he shot the kids, he just put some dumb theory out there because that's what he does and a lot of people are happy to hear him say dumb **** for essentially purely entertainment purposes.

Bit over cooked, if he's not tech savy and has thousands of messages it's not unreasonable to say he didn't find what he was looking for.
"he's not tech savvy", well he had his lawyers, he had his tech people at CT TV, and he had the option to get someone from outside to look at it. "he's not tech savvy" is not an excuse in a court of law, and certainly not when you've spent years putting off discovery for one reason or another so it's not like he can say "well you only gave me a week to do it" (the judge got so fed up with his nonsense she warned him he had something like 30 days to comply of she'd issue a default judgement, he decided it was more important to go on his show than turn up in court and she eventually issued the judgement).

And it's not exactly a hard thing to do, to search for "sandy hook" or other such terms, even for the relatively tech illiterate.

He's made a career of lying to people for money, he's lied to the court repeatedly and consistently, it's now looking like he's actively, persistently and knowingly perjured himself in the court. He's quite likely to be lucky if he ends up not having issues due to that, let alone the contents of that phone are now most likely fair game for pretty much any other court or law enforcement agency to look at (the Jan 6th enquiry are likely to be very interested), and I suspect the bankruptcy courts are going to be interested in it given his actions in applying for it are so blatantly to avoid paying a settlement.

I don't think of him like he shot the kids but he is a vile nasty man who absolutely deserves to have to pay for the hurt he has caused with his lies. imagine how you would feel if your kid was murdered and someone was calling you a liar over it in the media.

the fact his lies in court have been exposed and he is trying to get out of paying any fine is the clinker on the **** sandwich.

I agree in freedom of speech, but not when its objective lies with the intent of hurting / defaming innocent victims (and I know some disagree but personally I don't think agreeing with freedom of speech but at the same time having limits on it are contradictory views)

From my understanding the issue was all the idiots that contacted the family and abused them. I doubt any of the families had even heard of Alex Jones before this so why would they care what he says to a fringe group.
