Alien isolation 2 in the making

Not wishing to diss anyone but I personally don't understand how some peeps are so scared of video games that they stop playing them lol. The whole reason I play horror games is to feel scared / freaked out / on edge because it's a buzz.
Well I stopped playing the first time round and then went back and completed it.

I think with the horror genre you have to build up from the tamer stuff.

The most frightening thing about the entire game was ign giving it a 5.9 and people still reading/watching ign.

I love when a game is able to immerse me so much that I get that feeling. Still, sometimes I need a short break to calm down. I guess generally people like to relax and de-stress from their daily lives when they play games, myself included, but some of my most memorable gaming time has been playing games that scared me. :D

I can't remember the specific level honestly it's been too long. At a guess I'd say it was around 2/3 through the game. All I remember is that there are a bunch of rotating lighting arc things that you have to dodge whilst fighting the Queen.

Just done that. She got electrocuted. I guess on easy mode she has hardly any HP.

Same! And I totally get it about needing to be in the mood.

1 of my most memorable gaming experiences was in Condemned....the department store....the mannequins...O_O

Mine is from the original RE3 when nemesis crashes through the window in the police station as you're coming down the stairs. That was so long ago now.. It's almost like a bit of childhood trauma. :D
Similarly, Alien holds a special place in my mind as I watched the films as a child. This was not an easy game for me to get through!

Trying Alien Isolation in VR has taken that level of immersion to another level, and with that the fear factor.
Probably why I am yet to get to the point of actually seeing the xenomorph, rather than just hear it........
It didn't help as I added a mod to increase the number of the creatures as well as improve their AI.
That game is on hold, probably for some time.
