Alien Isolation Benchmark

I just cant bring myself to commit to buying a GE or Mantle game, or anything that I know AMD has been involved in. I've even got a bit of sick coming up thinking about it. Saying that I did buy a PS4 when they came out :D

Did an AMD employee run over your dog/cat by any chance?

You are only hurting yourself with that attitude, I imagine that the majority of upcoming games will either be a gaming evolved title or/and have mantle....

I guess it is to be expected in some ways though considering both the current gen consoles are using AMD GPU's.

I take it you haven't played any of these games then?

I agree Nexus. Its a strange attitude. I can understand if the game tanks when you want to play it, but as far as im aware it runs fine in nvidia cards. I dont not buy a game because its optimized for nvidia as long as its playable!

Exactly! In fact, I am pretty sure that a lot of the AMD games run a little bit better on nvidia GPU's so I really don't see the issue...

If I had that same attitude about nvidia sponsored games, I would have missed out on some of the best games i.e. batman akrham series, crysis 1, warhead and 2 (iirc?), metro and the far cry games.

Oh well, like I said, his loss.

I will post up my benchmark score later on.

I couldn't do it, I hate AMD with a passion. I probably should keep these thoughts to myself though as to what reasons I buy games. Your attitude is pretty sane, whereas mine ? ;) I do have a very set in my ways attitude and prob best to ignore me :D

He's free to ignore games sponsored by AMD just as a lot of you are free to ignore games with GameWorks effects.

The reasons behind the choice to ignore both AMD games and nVidia games is illogical to me when you should really judge a game on its merits. But that's peoples choice. They can and will spend money in the way they wish and I don't think people should be criticised for that choice even if you disagree with the reasons behind it.

This.

I have seen the same statements when GameWorks has been in a game from the other side and I think that choice is fair enough to the non purchaser. Their money, their choice is the bottom line.

Are you into politics by any chance, Rusty? :p

It would be interesting to know his reasons before making judgements on them. All we have to go on is a stream of hate, but hey...

My degree is PPE does that count? :D

All I'm saying is that people should be free to make the choices they want to make with regards to purchasing without being criticised for that choice. Brand tribalism sometimes transcends this in the realm of graphics cards and frankly it pongs.

He's being attacked for his freedom of choice?

Not yet, no, but I think we all know how this ends up when people disagree with said choices and raging fanboys take offence :). In general I mean here not specifically this situation.

Yeah no problems there, whatsoever. Anyway like what boundaries I try to establish would be adhered to anyway... lol. :D

This.

We only want to know the reason why.....

No one is specifically "attacking" him for his choice.

Really?

Got any names or posts linking to those statements?

This is the first that I have ever seen, at least to that level....

The only thing, which could be considered in the same sort of league is Matt's posts on mantle games i.e. he will get any game just because it has mantle or/and will rather wait for a game to be updated with mantle support before playing it even if the game doesn't need mantle in the first place i.e. SE 3, his reasons for this are obvious though! :p

He hasn't actually been attacked, looks to me like he has only been asked 'why'-just saying.

I certainly don't cut my nose off to spite my face with sponsored titles, I have the **** running ones too regardless the vendor.:D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember seeing any of the Gamesworks criticizers/theorists saying that they will never buy an Nvidia sponsored title, full stop. So I don't think it's quite the same thing :)

Either way, I personally couldn't give a toss what he does or doesn't buy, just as I couldn't give a toss what card anyone chooses.

What I do take objection to, is the constant stream of hateful bile that seems to flow at any given opportunity, no matter how tenuous the link is.
The same goes for those on the other side of the fence (See Drunkenmaster for example, although his style is rather different and nobody reads most of his posts)

Am I allowed to criticize that at least, or am I not allowed to now because he's given us permission to ignore it? :)

As above, nobody said 'attacked'. It certainly isn't vicious (yet) but that still doesn't mean one should be criticised for a choice IMO.

Same. Like Nexus says you miss out on some potential classics. I could have missed out on Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider or Batman . Alas... :)
