Alien: Rogue Incursion

Mixed reviews.

+ captures the feel of an alien movie
+ some epic moments / easter eggs

- feels like a flat screen pc game that's been converted to vr.
-alien ai is basic.
- predictable timing on waves of aliens.
- lots of bugs

I'll probably hold for the meta version for things to iron out.

dont you want lots of bufgs though.... its an aliens game its al about bugs!

more seriously your comments sounds like the review i read yesterday and linked.
lets hope the save system is fixed

Just read this online also

Alien: Rogue Incursion comes in two parts Alien: Rogue Incursion is apparently not a complete game, but only the first of two parts. This is all the more surprising because this fact has just come out and Survios has not said how exactly Alien: Rogue Incursion will be continued.

Didn't know this so news to me at least...

thats news to me, althought ive not been keeping tabs on it, sounds a bit bad though and not advertised at all fromw hat i can see.
if so then tbh it sounds like its bad advertisement / bad publisher practice.
it would instantly put me off tbh not being upfront about it.

ABOUT THIS GAME
Experience the universe of the Alien films like never before: in terrifyingly immersive single-player VR. An all-new action-horror entry into the classic franchise, Alien: Rogue Incursion transforms you into Zula Hendricks–the ex-Colonial Marine hellbent on exposing Weyland-Yutani’s black-site experiments–on an extremely dangerous mission to the uncharted planet Purdan. With her synth companion Davis 01 for guidance, Zula must infiltrate the infested Gemini Exoplanet Solutions research facility and survive the ever-present threat of the most cunning Xenomorphs ever encountered, with both skilled stealth and serious firepower at her disposal. And when the threat she discovers has extinction-level consequences, Zula suddenly finds herself with humanity’s fate on her shoulders.

PART ONE OF A TWO-PART STORY

Zula's Fight Begins Here: Part One of this gripping two-part story thrusts you into the violent world of ALIEN, where you will uncover the secrets lurking within the GES facility on LV-354, the enigmatic planet Purdan. This installment stands alone as a complete story yet leaves you hanging on a thrilling cliffhanger, eager to dive deeper into Zula's unfolding story in Part Two, where she will face new challenges and deadlier enemies.

not listed on meta store...

if part 2 is a free add on later that might be ok.

Hoping this will improve too. IGN gave it a decent review. Love the scary dark stuff in VR.
Been playing Metro Awakening lately plus Resident Evil 7 again now have headset with decent blacks. BTW it’s worth getting the 4K texture pack for RE7 if you have the VRAM

I think this game needs a few updates before I'll bite. It's more Aliens: Colonial Marines (In gameplay, bugs, and being a big disappoiintment) rather than Alien Isolation (absolutely scary, atmospheric and an amazing experience, but a bit janky as it's a VR mod).

as a graphics snob, before anyone accuses me of anything
How is it possible to produce a game in 2024 that is graphically inferior to Alien Isolation in 2014 (that also runs in VR via a mod and is awesome)

short anwser is easily.
longer anwser, i epexect they were origanlly targeting the quest platform and run in to optimisation issues at a guess.

Time, budget, and platform limitations.

The same thing with Metro Awakening which has graphics worse than early Oculus PC games.
