Good news for AMD owners!

Do we really need a new thread for every Roy Taylor twitter post? :p

Yes, just what we needed more Roy threads. This man is everywhere. I expect to find him in bed with the mrs when i head to bed tonight.

Great news though. Battlefield 3 already has amazing scaling on crossfire. As long as AMD cards are faster than similarly priced Nvidia cards ill be happy. :D

It's interesting GPU news that happens to have been posted by Roy Taylor (that's FB btw, not Twitter, sorry to be pedantic :p)

Sorry I'm not down with all the fake friendship social media stuff :D.

The way it's going next time I refresh the page I expect page 1 to be just be threads of Roy quotes :D. You could have just added it to Matt's thread.

Mrs may have changed the locks so you wont even get in the house, let alone the bedroom mate.:D

Tbf though, bf3 scales pretty nicely with sli too.:)

To be fair its only a matter of time before Roy has his own thread. I just hope i get to do it and no one tries to steal my thunder.

He can probably deliver more gigaflops to her than i can, so i wouldn't hold it against her.

Yep think its safe to say it works well with both sides. Here's hoping it works just a little bit better with AMD cards though. :D

For the love of god dice, please include a consistent in game benchmark this year. It will save a lot of arguments here about dodgy benchmarking procedures. :D

I'm not sure what this means exactly.
Over the years I've played games whereby nVidia have been on board with the devs of a game and it plays brilliantly on an AMD card and vice-versa.

It seems as though the games play fine on either and whoever gave the devs enough money get their logo/slogan show on startup right?

Starting with the release of Battlefield 4, all current and future titles using the Frostbite 3 engine — Need for Speed Rivals, Mirror's Edge 2, etc. — will ship optimized exclusively for AMD GPUs and CPUs. While Nvidia-based systems will be supported, the company won't be able to develop and distribute updated drivers until after each game is released

I actually decided to read the article and the above caught my eye. That's pretty big news if true.

Id like to see this as well, all the review sites seem to use operation swordbreaker, as ive never played more than the intro of the sp ive never bothered with this. Id like to see something like the benchmark tools for the likes of crysis, resi evil etc. Btw Matt, have you went xfire then?

Yes the problem with benchmarks of crysis 3, farcry 3 and battlefield 3 is they lack major consistency. Hopefully that gets rectified with battlefield 4.

I have indeed joined you in the world of multi gpu mate and am loving it. I can now enjoy battlefield 3 maxed out at 1440p with smooth performance and high fps. Although my overclocked 7970 did a sterling job, two 7950's blow it away in performance terms.

Nice un, a bigger monitor or 120Hz is my next requirement, sli 670's is a wee bit overkill for 1920x1200. Performance is fantastic though, but the old monitor will have to tide me over till an upgrade. Second card was too good a price to resist.

Yeah i was sceptical about doing it at first, especially with all the bad PR crossfire gets but im very happy with it so far.

So all that talk of embracing open standard and how nVidia locking in titles is bad for the health of gaming yada yada stands for nothing when the boot is on the other foot... suprise.
