** ALL HAIL THE NEW HEAVEN KING - ATI 7970 3GB!! (TRI-FIRE TESTED)**

Gibbo, I would happily take a pair of these and waterblocks, along with that 8 Core SB-E CPU you are testing for review purposes ;).

Oh and a couple of 480 Rads. Should be able to get 1.5ghz on the core and about 4.8 on the cpu for you ;) would be a nice bit of advertising! :p

Considering I got 5.1 on my 2500k and 1.2 ghz at max on my 580 under just a 240 and 360 rad ;)

Hi there

Here is some 2560x1600 Heaven benchmarks:-

Very impressive for 2560x1600 resolution, look at the settings too. ;)

Andrew Moore did some testing last night in his home system with a pair of GTX 580 3GB in SLI with a CPU clocked at 5.3GHz, compared to my CPU here at 3.4GHz.

However even with that CPU advantage and him clocking his 3GB GTX 580's he could not break 3000 points in the Heaven benchmark. Wheras the ATI Cards break 3500 with absolute ease. :)

The different brands you get like MSI, Saphire etc they are exactly the same apart from maybe different warrantys and the sticker design. So they should be just as reliable as each other?
If thats right am i just better off getting the cheapest one? Usually ocuk have there own brand and its the cheapest.

Just one benchmark Gibbo, you need to post much much more.

These heaven scores are very good indeed, having said that, ATI has been busy in optimising tessellation.

We need to see 3dmark 11, BF3 time demo and tbh pretty much everything else you have time to do.

The 7000 series hype machine is being drummed up very well.. after all these cards need to be sold, but regardless of benchmarks scores they will still sell in droves.

I'm not really interested in synthetic benchmarks nor are people on here, we wanna see meaningful ones, you could say go and check out the reviews, but do we trust them? and I know ocuk will post findings as they are.

Have AMD fixed tessellation performance then or are they still using optimizations (ie. dumbing the levels down via drivers)?

So in heaven dual 7970's @ stock are ~20% faster than dual oc'ed 3GB 580's. Thats pretty good.

But we need the full figures for max oc on both cards in a similar setup across a range of tests.
