** ALL HAIL THE NEW HEAVEN KING - ATI 7970 3GB!! (TRI-FIRE TESTED)**

in this bench my cards dont hit 60 id be intrested to hear what these cards hit in single crossfire running this bench

Well that surprises me to be honest, looking at reviews a single 7970 generally runs cooler and quieter than a single 480 whilst using less power and obviously being faster.

Generally my 5870 hits within a couple degrees of its max temp almost instantly when running a benchmark.

so your only in here to troll then?

How in the hell am I trolling? I said it doesn't seem that hot for tri-fire.

72c was max under crossfire with fans at 20% which is silent and that was OC too under benchmarking, gaming will be slightly lower temp.

he will be using cascade dice or ln2 with massive volt mods

Yeah i don't want to mod the cards, I just want to see what they can actually do with stock cooler.

Three in Tri-Fire all sandwiched together managed 1125MHz core and 6300MHz memory with zero issue on stock volts. I could not go higher as overdrive sliders were as far to right as they go. I think a single card will probable hit 1200-1300MHz core with stock cooler so be good to try the AMD clocking tool he is to bypass the limits imposed by overdrive. :)

The minimums aren't really relevant with the Heaven benchmark.

They only occur in the first few frames as the benchmark starts.

The frame rate for the remaing 99.99% of the benchmark will be much higher.

I understand you, but from a technical angle min is min, same test for all setups !

If you're going to judge by the meaningless minimum frame rate then the former leader in the Heaven benchmark thread had a really crap setup.

Quad GTX 580, a score of 4406 and a minimum of 16.6FPS.

I think the benchmark runs before all the graphical data has been moved.

BFBC2 takes 2 times as long to load a map when in Quadfire than when i run Dual GPU.

I think you've nailed it there.

That tiny fraction at the beginning of the benchmark, where the minumum FPS occurs while the data is loaded, can be ignored.
