The day Hazard signs for some one will be the day Sneijder signs for United and Honda goes to Liverpool.

Mind you all this hype over Hazard has deflected from whats happening with RVP and his will he or wont he sign another contract for Arsenal:p:D

I think RVP said recently that no amount of money will sway him, he needs to see that we are serious about contending for honours, he obviously wants us to sign some more players. One thing I will say though is that no matter how talented he is, he's just one player, he's not bigger than the club and it seems that whenever our best man leaves we are the ones earmarked for 5th/6th/relegation/whatever.

We've seen a lot of top players leave over the past decade, we've always been singled out by other fans and by the media, saying we won't be able to keep our Champions League spot or we won't be able to compete but we always do. Some of the short sighted Arsenal fans forget that only a few seasons ago we had a team which could and should have won the league. There'll always be new players to replace the outgoing ones and we'll be fine.

We can't go around signing every big name player just because one of our current players wants us to, no matter how talented van Persie is he does have a shady injury record. If he wants a good Bosman deal then he's going to play out of his skin for the upcoming season and that is only going to benefit Arsenal. Yes, we could sell him and get a decent amount, but we aren't exactly a poor club, we need to buy players that will strengthen the areas that need strengthening, not buy players just to pander to one of our current ones.

Another thing which people will point out is the amount of goals he scored for us last season and the percentage of the teams goals which came from him, but look at Real or Barca, if you take Messi or Ronaldo out of those teams that's a huge chunk of goals missing, the same could be said for pretty much any other team who relies on a striker to score for them. It doesn't mean we won't be able to find players who will contribute, we might not be able to get another 30 goal a season striker, in fact it's damn near impossible to just go out and buy one unless you're Man City, but if van Persie leaves next summer it won't be the end of the world.

Lol, I think it's quite amusing how Hazard is winding everyone up! :p

Fingers crossed the rumours are correct and he'll go to chelsea.

+1 pretty much how i see it too. Id like RVP to stay with us for a few more yrs injury free but if he wants to go then i say let him go. We managed to survive without Fabregas this season and im sure we will survive without RVP if it comes to that as well. At least we have a proven goalscorer in Podolski and hopefully if the rumours are true about Giroud then even better.

But i happen to think RVP is stalling on a new contract because he wants to see if we are going to challenge seriously for trophies next season...im sure if we won a trophy or 2 next season then he will most probably sign on the dotted line. Otherwise we run the risk of losing him for free, which like you said isnt necessarily a bad thing.

Anyhow back to the Hazard farce, like i said it takes the heat off us and RVP for the time being till the rumour machine gets into full flow about him signing another contract with us or not:p

Why are SSN so bloody useless. This Hazard transfer saga is dragging on too long, although it's exciting, I just know I will end up feeling more disappointed the longer it goes. I would love Kagawa to come to United, but Hazard seems different class, a player United have been needing since Ronaldo left.

SSN are hardly useless lol, they dont know as much as the next person does in all honesty.

Its down to Hazard and his agent for keeping everyone in suspense, no one else is to blame.

I think Sky Sports seem to be fairly restrained when it comes to rumours actually, everything they've reported thus far has been accurate. They don't jump on the Twitter bandwagon like everyone else!

The Sky Bet odds tell a different story (betting is dodgy anyway :p) but the News channel itself seems good.

Indeed, i like SSN for the transfers and stories they do...they hardly get it wrong and are usually spot on with their transfer stories.

It's hardly the fault of Hazard and his agent. What's Hazard done? Said he's decided where to go, and played a stupid game on TV where he got shown cards of each team and ended up 'picking' Lille? It's the fault of the media trying to make EVERYTHING THE BIGGEST, MOST DRAMATIC THING EVER.

Of course the media bandwagon has a lot to answer for but Hazard should have kept his mouth shut until he definitely has decided which team he wants to play for, he hasnt...hes been saying for most of the day, announcement due soon as to where hes going. As of yet nothing, why say announcement due soon then go quiet??...the mind boggles:confused:

I dont get the whole secrecy thing, just tell everyone where the **** you are going you silly muppet:p

Well, it's the media AND the people who read said media and work themselves up into a frenzy(which beyond watching a porn channel, shouldn't happen and is the fault of the media consumer).

Wow, the Hazard story is exciting.... really? A guy says he's signing for one of a bunch of clubs, I don't care either way, even if he signs for Arsenal, why? He announces today, tomorrow, a week from now, 2 months from now.... I still won't see him play for whichever club it is still the start of the season so I really couldn't care less when he announces, or the clubs, or the media. I'm fairly sure it will happen before 1st September and I couldn't give a damn when the news arrives.

Finally looks like hes off to Chelsea...guess winning the CL has helped Chelsea untold amounts:p

About ****ing time he made up his mind:p

Well, Chelsea don't actually have a manager but they do now have another player that knows he can go to Abramovich if he has any problems, should be fun for whoever does get the job :p.
