I hope we are right on the verge of getting it wrapped up and we'll push it through imminently.

Eden Hazard: 192 apps, 50 goals and 30 assists.

Shinji Kagawa: 198 apps, 86 goals and 45 assists. In a better league.

Unfortunately stats aren't everything and if the German cup final was anything to go by (and the fact that clown Gomez has scored over 40 times this season) I dont think the Bundesliga is all that great either.

Watch Chelsea sign Modric as well now :(

I'd wager the three teams offered very similar ~packages~, with the London factor swaying it for him.

I doubt it. If we're talking about footballing reasons, I'd understand him going to City, but the fact they wanted him and likely pulled out points to some kind of outrageous financial situation. If Abramovich likes a player, he overlooks things like that.

There were all sorts of rumours going around such as Chelsea offering double the wages, City pulling out and not wanting to pay huge wages etc.

It's been a twitter frenzy, hopefully some decent facts come out.

I reckon there's more to it :p. If not, Abromavich probably decided now that he got the cup he wanted to splash out big for probably the last time?

Lol. The reason he didn't choose city was because he wanted to be 100% sure he'd be playing every game. City have too many good players already.

Maybe he is excited by the riches that winning the champions league brings and has spent it all already. :D

Spot on. Hazard announced he was coming to Manchester then all of sudden he signs for Chelsea? Blatantly a case of he was sure one of the two Manchester clubs would finally cave and pay his agent the fee he wanted and when it was obviously neither would he's then been left with Chelsea. The whole thing has played out so obviously it's foolish to even question it, not that Chelsea fans will care and why would they? They got the player and have trumped everyone by doing so.

Chelsea were after Hulk weren't they? Maybe they missed out on Hulk and paying that little bit extra £ to get Hazard above City's funds?

It's not as though Chelsea have a joke of a team. Their 'keepers performed well recently, and has been highly regarded for ages. They have an extremely good defence, and a very good midfield (especially with Marin, and now Hazard)... whilst the only real question marks are up front (but Torres has been looking better, recently, then they have Sturridge and Lukaku who undoubtably have ability/potential), and the managerial vacancy (but I'm sure they'll get someone good in).

No, they undoubtedly have a decent team. Currently they don't even have a manager unless something has happened behind the scenes.

I just think there will have been some money factor involved, but we'll have to wait and see if that is revealed.

I don't see the huge appeal of what is more or less an excellent but flukey Champion's League win. It can't just have been down to that.

How would you rank the chances of each team, next year? I'd put Citeh as favourites, but I wouldn't put Manyoo miles ahead of Chelsea...

It depends who Man Utd sign, and whether the new signings do well (for all teams). If Man Utd don't sign anyone (heaven forbid) then I could see Chelsea getting ahead of us, and even Arsenal if they get the likes of M'Vila and co.

I think a lot will ride on this transfer market, Arsenal are looking to significantly strengthen, City will no doubt get a couple of top players, Chelsea seem to be going on a rampage (Hazard, Hulk, Modric, etc).

I can't see Spurs doing much really.

Exactly, they're hardly a clear choice over City and United, especially as it seemed like he wanted to come to Manchester too. I doubt a Champion's League win will have changed his mind. I imagine he watched it and will have seen Chelsea defending for their lives, and as admirable as that is, they hardly spanked Barcelona and Bayern.

At that point, it looked like chelsea would not be in the champions league. That was why chelsea weren't an option at that point.

And you're happy with players only choosing your club on the proviso you can offer Champions League football? Not that I agree that's the reason why he's signed (or going to sign)
