All Three One Plans to be cancelled from today

Why? because they are being stupid, there's not much else to reply to the comments other than that. 4gb is sod all. Try streaming anything and you'll eat 4gb in no time, let alone a monthly limit.

Or telling me I don't watch films on a phone for hours. As they know what I do, or not. It's the main reason I have a 6" phone.

Ee do 20gb on phone which is phone or tethering, and apparently extra data addons but it doesn't day what or how much.. And do more on mifi.

They are being greedy, they keep pushing streaming, then don't give data limits that can make use if stream services.
If three had an sense, they would offer a higher tether addon or plan for more money.

So you use 4gb in half a day, and state you have another two days that are the same in this particular week. That'd be 24gb for those three whole days assuming you use it as you have stated you do above. 24gb in a week is taking the pee.

 I average high 20s a month, how much simpler can it be. I can have no sitting around shifts a month, or dozens. Only once have I exceeded 30gb and that was when sky bb was down for best part of a month, which was 50gb, so still hardly excessive.

Last 30days I've used 14gb including to days. So again not excessive at all.

Just because you guys basically don't tether at all, doesn't mean these figures are excessive at all.

You're best off giving up, you don't need to have to repeatedly validate your usage to people that won't listen.

Well you have it until the end of your contract. Accept you HAD a good deal, you won't be getting it anymore and move on. Tough luck if no one else offers what you need. Put toys back in pram, carry on.

No toys are out if prams.
Just many stupid comments in this thread. Especially the you aren't allowed to use the unlimited data you signed up for comments.
It's great how you all like getting screwed by companies though.

They are allowing you to see out your contract whether that be 30 days or x months. They aren't screwing you. The product you currently have is no longer offered.

People abusing the service is what has screwed it. Once again, you are being allowed to finish your contract with the tariff as it stands. Do you go in to Tesco/Asda or whatever and go mental when they no longer sell an item you're used to buying? If its not available you can't have it.

You don't get to state what is a reasonable price for high data usage.

Disagree? Build your own 4g network.

/thread.

Oh god, off course they are screwing the customer.
This sin't some random product no longer offered. This is a massive reduction in service for same price. The bandwidth is still there, they haven't removed it.

Especially, with how the world is going and how they themselves advertise and promote streaming.

4GB a month sounds reasonable to me.

"I've already used 4GB today and I'm still only halfway through my shift" doesn't sound reasonable. It's not intended for people to sit and watch movies for hours on end.

The thing is, they're still offering unlimited internet on phone internet - it's just tethered internet that is being restricted.

So all these people who genuinely are using hundreds of GB/month on e.g. torrenting, will simply use a torrenting app for android, slightly inconvenienced by having to transfer from SD card every day. All it will really do is inconvenience people who use a moderate amount of tethered internet (having looked through my phone's estimates, it appears I use just over 1GB/wk via tethering, unless I happen to be downloading a game or some particularly large Windows updates or some such thing). So I'll be significantly inconvenienced and may need to, for example, stop folding in order to conserve bandwidth since landline internet is not an option for me.

I may also need to try to watch Youtube vids etc on my phone, instead of the computer. I don't do this often and it will be frustrating and inconvenient for me, it won't significantly affect my bandwidth since my phone will display 720p Youtube and my computer is limited by internet speed to not more than 720p, which almost makes it more annoying.

The other issue is the price points available. If they aren't offering better deals than the ones posted on their website, I'll be most disappointed. They're currently significantly more expensive for significantly less minutes etc.

Whilst this is sad news I feel it was inevitable. I have many friends who joined Three so they could cancel their home broadband (I have cable BB btw). They regularly use over 100GB of data a month streaming Netflix Sky on demand etc. I don't think Three envisaged this when they made tethering unlimited. In fairness, I think my mates would accept that what they have been doing doesn't really fall into the fair usage agreement, each of them has made comments like "whilst it lasts" etc.
So, whilst I am miffed about this, I can't say I am surprised and the up shot should be better speeds for the average user on a day to day basis.

Of course the silver lining to all this is we will all be forced onto one of the new contracts which all now include free 0800 numbers and 0845 are covered in minute allowance. I also challenge anyone to find a better unlimited 4g data deal on another network, Three are still by far the best value.

Hi all.

Read a few posts and wanted to ask without reading all of em.

My brother is on the three One plan for 15 a month he uses it for youtube i think at work on night shift when he has time so uses probably a bit of data per day.

He doesnt teather.

Will he be effected or is it just ppl that has used it for teathering or is it all one plan customers weather they teather or not?

They are capping the tethering.

Sim only being capped at 4gb
Phone contracts capped at 2gb

Of course they will keep the unlimited data providing you have it.

It doesn't include 0845 numbers, they cost 5p/min.
Yay free 0800 numbers, I have a spare sim on PAYG from another network for that, for the rare occasion saynoto0870 doesn't have an alternative.
I don't really care about 4G, 3G with HSDPA is satisfactory and 4G coverage really quite patchy and not that much faster in web browsing etc.

Three also allow you to use all of your package when abroad in many countries. By far they have the best benefits of any of the networks
