What are your all time favourite PS2 games?
What did you like about said game(s)?
Do you recommend it?

My favourites:

GTAIII, GTAVC, GTASA - The ultimate crime simulators. Whats not to like?

FreQuency - One of Harmonix's early music rythm games. Somewhat basic but features some interesting music.

Gran Turismo 3 - My favourite GT game to this day. I spent hundreds of hours on this. It just felt good. Lots of memories of driving the Escudo Pikes Peak.

Auto Modellista - Cel shaded japanese racing. Fairly unique for me and plenty of tuner cars. Stylish!

Timesplitters 2 - Fast paced shooter that outpaces Call of Duty. Begging for a HD facelift and added online play.

This list will grow in time.

I would like to hear your opinions on these titles and your favourite titles.

(If there is already a topic like this one, please feel free to point it out)

Not necessarily PS2 games lol, thread relates to Xbox as well ;)

But yeah GTA3, VC, driv3r, any FIFA from then, hit man games , splinter cell, max Payne etc these are probably the obvious ones but shows how many awesome games there were..

I'll agree with Timesplitters 1 and 2, utterly brilliant games which I still have on my shelf

GTA Vice city is my favourite of all the gta's released to date, going back and playing it now sort of ruins the memory, but at the time I don't remember enjoying any GTA as much as I did that one! San Andreas's theme and setting didn't do it for me, even if the features were brilliant.

Tourist Trophy, best motorbike game for years, was not that impressed with "Ride", though I haven't played the full version so I guess I'll have to wait and play it, the demo was a bit crap though.

Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty, simply brilliant

GT4 was better than 3 imo, but iv more memories of 3 with it being the only one i 100% completed. complex string was a killer! took a few attempts :D

GTA3.. what wasnt to like?

Tekken tag. the last of the series i liked

Aside from the usual subjects mentioned above, I freakin loved Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I tried it recently on PS3 but it just didn't have the same captivating atmosphere these days as it did back then.

Oh and even better than that was Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. That was just a perfect game IMO.
