All young drivers post your insurance prices here !!!

Not young but only started driving last year, i'm 32 next month. I have a 1.2 1999 Corsa B, I pay £1300/year for 3rd Party F&T, this was the absolute cheapest quote I could get, spent about 4 days using websites, phoning around, comparison sites. Worst thing is i'm expecting a rise this year when I renew due to all the reports i'm getting of insurance going up across the nation.

Seriously?

That is a lot of money on that car, plus taking your age into consideration. Bad post-code? A lot of people doing claims or insured in the area where you live?

Really bad postcode area in Coventry and less than 1 year driving :(

I did a test quote for my old address, less than 1 mile a way on a quieter street, was about £200 cheaper for the year.

EDIT: Just checked and i'm in a Category E* postcode area

Typical first car, usually found in ditches with 17 year olds sometimes still inside. Crates of WKD optional. Should have got something that fits a different demographic.

Surely the fact i'm 31 should have made some difference. Took it because it was cheap and equivalent quotes for same sized engine Fiesta's, Clios and Saxos were more expensive.

EDIT: Did try quotes for smaller engine bigger "grown up" cars like mondeo's, vectras, meganes and the like but the quotes were in the £2000+ range

Z4 3.0i 2003 renewal last summer when I was 24, 3 NCB, with Noel Dazely, was £890.

What possessed you to drive a 7 series at 22?!

I wanted a nice 5 series couldn't find one i liked for my budget so i ended up buying a 7.

Not to much of a old man car handles and drives fantastically!!! In my work and general life i do end up doing loads of motorway miles now and then so its good to have a good cruising car.

My next car will hopefully be a 3 series coupe or convertible though!!! 3 series is definatly more fun!!! The 7 is just a ultimate crusing car!!

Fair play to you :)

I could have murdered one for my 5hour round trip recently. The Teg @4500rpm on the Motorway really does not bode well for a relaxing trip.

I'm 21 with 0 years NCB and I'm paying £700 with elephant.co.uk on a 1995 MR2 n/a (2 litres, 179bhp) on a 10 month booster policy (TPFT). It was £900 but adding my parents as named drivers chopped a load off. I also have modifications declaired (alloy wheels). I must have a good post code :)

24 - 4NCB - Cat C Postcode - Cayman S - ~£1200 10mnth bonus accelerator policy with Admiral

Interestingly I've just had a call from Admiral as I renewed only last week, they wanted to sell me "top-up insurance" or something to that effect. Pay £4 a month extra and you'll "instantly" get £1000 in the event of a whole car write off or stolen unrecovered regardless of fault.

Anyone heard of this before?

Not young, but a new driver, only passed test in November, bought car December. Had fun looking around at what to buy though and tried many different options before settling on the Mazda 3.

Couple of years old Seat Altea 1.0 £700 to insure.
Couple of years old Seat Leon 1.6 £700 to insure.
Couple of years old Mx-5 1.6 £700 to insure.
Slightly older Jeep Cherokee converted to LPG, think it was a 3.5l, £700 to insure.
Various Focus' £700 to insure.
Mondeo's, £700 to insure.
Golfs, £700 to insure.
Polo's, £700 to insure.
Passat's, £700 to insure.
S type Jag, £700 to insure (decided I wasn't that old yet:)

In fact, the only thing I could find that would actually cost me more than £700 to insure was a stupidly modified Supra, which came in at just over £1k.

The Mazda 3 1.6 ts2 was local, in good nick, good trim level and is a nice place to be when driving, which was my main concern, after learning in a Corsa which made me feel like I needed a trip to the Osteopath after every lesson, and came in at just under £700 fully comp to insure.

Yeah i think i got this call after i took out my new policy. Something about hire cars and money if your car is out of action. If i am honest i did not listen that much when the guy was on the phone(Rude i know, but i was at work).

2001 1.6 Focus 0 Years NCB.

I am 24 paying £846 with Admiral. I am the main policy holder, with 2 additional named drivers.

My 316i used to rev like that too :(

The 730d @ 70mph dead on is about 1500 rpm and on a private race track lol at 90 just over 2000rpm. Makes a very relaxing drive. ;)

Most I've payed was £1200 on a peugeot 205 1.4 with tesco when I was 18.

My Renault 5 gt turbo cost me nearly £700 to insure at 19/20 dropping down over the years and with different insurers to about £280 tpft when I was 25.

My 350z cost me £600 fully comp now aged 27. That's with admiral.

£850, far too expensive. I got some quotes below £650 around 6 months before but couldn't find anything that low come insurance time:(

Next year I'll be 25, will do some proper research and might consider a classic none-no claims policy. Hopefully then I'll be able to get under £500.

Hmm,

Clio 1.4 at 17 - £1400 TPFT
Jaguar XJS 3.6 at 18 - £1100 (FC classic miles restricted)
BMW 325i at 18 - £1200 TPFT
BMW M3 Evo at 19 - £2300TPFT
BMW M5 at 22 £3800 FC ... !!!!!!
