Allods EU - MMO

The beta is till the 21st or something i believe, and theres no wipe throughout the beta anymore cap of 20 for this beta then goes 30-40 i believe.

I jsut finished the starting 'solo' part as a druid on the good side, and I seem to have items for a mage (staff and robe), not nature stuff like claws and fur armour :P. Also, do you have to press the attack hotkey every time you want to attack? Can't it do it automatically?

EDIT: Argh! I just discovered you can't be an evil guy when you already have a good character. :( I might have to delete my warden.

There's no auto attack in the game. If you want to do a basic melee attack then you have to press the "Basic Attack" button or use a skill that also counts as a melee attack and puts the basic attack on cooldown. To be honest though when I tried my Druid earlier today I found I was never using the basic attack at all and instead just chained skills.

Yeah you'd think they'd disable that for the purpose of testing :/

Also, anybody look at Arisen's and just see Necron's? :P

Played a few different classes last night, and I have to say I enjoy the summoner the most so far. At early levels it's a very ranger-esque class, but I expect once I learn summoning spells it'll rock.

The Gibber's mental link ability is rather cool, but the trio-UPC hasn't been done as well as it could have been - Sword of the New World managed to use a group of three UPCs very well.

The lack of auto attack is odd, but then again you end up chaining casts all the time anyway :p I love the idea of stacking certain spells - like getting multiple Incindiary ammo ready to fire, and prepping a ranged attack before getting into range.

It's unfortunate that I'll need to delete my three chars to try out the dark faction - as said, it'd make sense for them to be unlocked in the beta testing stage.

Yeah they are my favourite archtype so far too - they seem very versatile in that they carry healing spells, dots, direct damage spells and use pets. Only downside that I found is that pet pathing on even slightly complex layouts bugs them out and they just stand there not moving until you unsummon/resummon.

The dark faction is rather fun to play, but it's dissapointing that the spells mirror the light faction (as much as I played, anyhow). I was hoping each faction would have different attacks/casts available.

Think I'll be going League again, as I prefer the look and feel of the light faction's areas :)

There doesn't seem to be much community chat, but that may be as I've only reached lvl 8 due to trying each faction/race/class. I'm hoping that later areas have a larger, more talkative community :)

Has anyone played far enough to try out the group/party features? Are they any good?

Hmmmm, when I click on the button that says 'Closed Beta, Register Now' on the EU Allods Online website it says 'You are already registered' and I click a button that takes me back to the website/forum. Does this mean that my account is registered for the beta and I can play the game? As there doesn't appear to be anywhere for me to input a key code of any sort.

Edit: Awesome, I've just checked my email account and got an email saying I can now access the game. I don't even know how it happened, I tried loads of keys and none seemed to work so I assumed I didn't have access. That's pretty weird, but awesome, going to download the client now.

Sounds like it, you get that screen if you are already in the beta and are logged into your account on the website. If you weren't on the beta and were logged in you'd get a box saying "Beta Key:" which you can type into and another button saying something like "Register now".

how on earth does this game look and play better than warhammer lol mind boggles how they screwd that up ..

Just been playing, it's great so far, although it seems to be pretty damn similar to WoW, but that's not a bad thing. I can see this being a big hit when it gets released properly. It's basically free to play WoW really.

I'd like to know that too. Also, how long does the beta last?

Been playing a couple of classes this evening. Thought I'd try the good side and made a Kanian Scout and a Gibberling Psionist. Enjoyed both classes - the arrow enchants on the scout are very cool and I loved the psi's mental link skill. Will explore furthur when I've got the time but on the Empire side as I do prefer their races. Also I want to make another Orc shaman - love the lightning spell effects.

Nice MMO so far :)
