Allods EU - MMO

I would also love a key if possible please. I have already signed up for one so IF I get one after someone else has given me a key I will share mine. Thanks.

I thought I'd have a look see what the crack is with this game.

I have to say for a F2P it actually looks and sounds pretty good ! :p

I might have to have a gander if I can get a key for it :)

Hello there :)

Some how i got lucky and managed to find a beta key, downloading now and gonna take it for a spin. Looks good from the video posted in this thread ;)

Thanks for that.
I applied to join the beta last week but I never signed up to that site in paticular.

I have now, and I see there is a page of Beta Keys. I assume all are taken now but, nevertheless, I will try them all when I am back from work..

Looks very polished for a f2p MMO. Very WoW-like, aesthetically speaking, but nevertheless very polished. Good to see some f2p MMOs are upping the stakes a bit.

The one thing which really baffled and surprised me when I read up on the game was this thing about not being able to use the general chat channel unless you pay. That really does seem rather stupid and hopefully its something they will reconsider.

Obviously f2p MMOs often have some kind of aspect to them that might supply income, but having to pay to speak in general chat does seem a rather silly route to doing it.

Impressive looking for a f2p MMO all the same.

Most mmo's I'd pay to have general chat removed ;)

Hehehe, thats called a single player game ;)

Having said that...I guess it depends how good the LFG tool is. If the LFG tool is pretty good then I suppose the need for a general chat for getting groups would be negated.

From what I'm aware the general chat is enabled with an item that doesn't cost any money, but you have to go through the item shop to use it. Maybe they are using it in some kind of item shop tutorial, or maybe to help spamming since you might have to register a bank card to the account to be able to use the item shop at all.

The shop does sell a megaphone which costs money, but that enables a worldwide chat (think of broadcasts from Warcrat how they can reach any zone). Although hopefully you can turn this off in chat options, as it'll get spammy.

Yeah, from one of the threads I read today about the zone wide chat..

"Zone Chat now has to be purchased to use. 1 crystal per 10 charges. From 11.12.09 developers have made PAID a zone chat. By calculations it turns out: 10 messages in a zone chat, stand 1 rouble" (excuse the translation)

So you effectively have to pay (on a 10 message per basis) for zonal chat.

Seems daft to me, there's lots of other more suitable ways of doing it. But who knows, they could change their mind back yet. Still time before release.

I've been playing more of this today, it's actually a really good game once you get into it. I'm only level 7 at the moment with a Paladin character but it's very polished and feels very 'together' as a F2P MMO, whereas pretty much all other F2P games out there usually feel very shoddy and are cheap looking etc. It actually feels more like a pay-to-play game.

It's basically just WoW with a different skin and lore/races/classes etc. So if you like WoW you will probably like this. I think it will become very popular once it's released properly if they manage the game correctly and it could be come a viable alternative to WoW itself, as I said in a previous post, it's basically free-to-play WoW.

I've found a small number of bugs do far, but that's what CBTs are for :) Most annoying one was my pet wouldn't spawn :p

Indeed, it's definately the most polished F2P MMO I've played. Currently playing either Eleven Summoner or Gibber Warden - I love having pets :p

I expect once it's an open beta/ RTM, I'll be hooked :/

I got accepted and just had a sneaky 30 mins on it and it seems great. Gonna keep me entertained over christmas!`

Is closed beta 2 finished now? I've heard conflicting reports and I get a server error when I try to log in. I can't seem to find anything concrete on the official eu website either. The news on the eu site seems to suggest that it should still be going. Looks like the American closed beta 2 has finished though?

I've not really had a look yet, but is it possible to create guilds at the moment? If you can, anyone fancy setting one up? :p

I got accepted and installed the game client this morning before work.

Haven't tried to log in and play yet though, fingers X'd!

No its still running. Not sure whats going on today but there is downtime scheduled for tomorrow. Check out the patch notes, increased level cap should mean access to the Holy Land and proper PvP! :D

Ladies and Gentlemen of Sarnaut,

Tomorrow, Wednesday the 23nd of December, there will be a scheduled downtime on all servers (ISA, ARO and AIRIN) between 900 GMT and 1100 GMT.

During this downtime:

-The level cap will be increased to 25. Enjoy your Christmas holidays!

-Translations of the text in game will be improved. CBTers can see the fruit of their much appreciated help and feedback. Thanks a million!

-The character creation name list will be reworked. There will now be a bit more freedom in choosing your character name.

Thank you for all your help testing Allods Online!
