Alloy Wheels - Declare?

im not sure on this as they are ford, if your insurance company is a decent one they should only charge you an extra 10-20 for them anyway... endsleigh charged me £7 more when i declared mine lol.

so i assume your keeping the focus now, wise choice.

edit: dont bother with prudential then..

My car came with optional extra wheels for free, I haven’t bothered to declare them as they came on the car out of the factory. Not saying I’m correct though.

Put your other ones back on if Mr Insurance inspector comes round :p . They wouldn't class that alloy as an optional extra though as those wheels are from the fiesta st.

I'd just cancel my insurance and be done with it, might as well save all the premium if I'm going to invalidate it anyway through non-disclosure...

Mine arent declared - according to my policy notes I only have to declare performance modifications. Most insurance companies if you phone up say that if you dont declare alloys etc then they wont pay to have them replaced, but if you do declare they will

I personally wouldnt bother as they're ford

Ive just been through this with my new car Admiral(i would assume most insurance comanies work the same) class anything added to the standard base car a modification. So although my car came from the factory with xenons, nav, bluetooth leather etc they all have to be declared as mods. They dont cover the mods though your paying the premium because youve changed the risk on the car apparently.

See this is stupid because if you then buy the car second hand and then don't know the sat nav wasn't a factory fit option or the xenons the insurance end up not paying out...

I think not somehow.

My car has stuff that was optional extras, should i class the sunglasses holder / floor mats / ESP / Rain sensing wipers and such...

Thats what I was told yesterday. I said to her that nearly all 530ds come with that from the factory but they wouldnt have it. TBH though I dont think all of the extras made much difference anyway.

I find it crazy myself, anything thats not a factory fit option thats fair enough.

Take my policy for example, it clearly states the car is not worth more than £40,000, so what options it has fitted doesn't matter since they have already figured that a total loss could result in upto a £40,000 payout and my insurance quote takes this into account.

Right, so if Prudential don't allow any mods to under 25's how is Bob and his BMW exactly going to declare his seats  what a **** take. I guess Prudential can't be as fussy if this is the case?

Because 90% of people won’t ever think about the factory upgrades when they insure their car.
