Presumably you have an affiliation with the 'large' website and some sort of proof that someone from that website has offered you some email addresses for sale so why don't you contact them with that evidence instead of propagating rumours?

Data protection act, afaik you can't sell contact details unless they have agreed when they bsigned up and even then it has to be a similar product.
