Am I missing something here?

However having plugged the 360 in it's just ridiculous. The quality has gone from poor to awful. I'm not joking, it looks so much better on the 23" computer LCD.

I did warn you that on a bigger screen, the image quality will deteriorate.

Summary: "my PC has better graphics are better than your xbox, oh and look at all the other stuff I'm buying, you want to touch me don't you....... yes you do!"

Totally pointless thread that could have been a side note in the official thread.

I'm not saying anything.

...but I have seen consoles, in use, for many hours?

There is no contest when it comes to graphics - PC wins hands down. However, you also pay a lot for that privilage.

Is this too difficult to understand or are the console supporters suggesting that consoles offer image quality on par with a PC?

Your post is pretty pointless.

Its hilarious isnt it, how far people will go to justify it to themselves they will say that because you saw it on your mates console, that you didnt really see it, it was just your mind playing tricks on you

I thought exactly the same thing when I read it

You dont even need a high end PC, just a middle of the range PC running at 1680x1050 with everything at medium/high with a bit of AA looks superior

Not at all, dude. I'm saying the image quality doesn't really matter. It's whatever you personally require from your games. I'm very happy with what the games on 360/PS3 provide and that's many hours of glorious entertainment.

Here's a pic:

Bit meaningless though as I obviously need a new camera since it can't take a decent shot. And it doesn't show the difference very well

What make is it?

I personally hate small LCDs for console gaming. Plasmas are so much better for handling them.

Exactly.

At the end of the day a console is significantly cheaper, so it doesnt come as a surprise that the image quality is inferior. This is ultimately what keeps PC (high end) video card manufacturers in business.

The fact that consoles are cheaper (than a gaming PC) and offer plug and play functionality, means they have mass market appeal.

I don't think anyone is berating console gaming.

Its a crap make.

They first tried to blame it on the HDMI cable.
Then they tried to blame it on the small screen.
Now they are trying to blame it on a crap TV.

I never realised that the console fan boy's were so short sighted.

I bet if you hooked it up to a Pioneer Kuro, the fan boys would make some other excuse, rather than just admit that a £1k PC is better than a £200 console.

a £1k PC is better than a £200 console.

The funny thing is that once you've paid for the screen, console, games, Live sub, you're talking £600-£700, not £200.

Anyways I give up. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it at the moment. Will test a Blu-ray on the screen soon, if it's awesome I'll scrap the 360, if it's crap I'll just run the console on a HDMI supported monitor

As console FPS games go, Reach is quite good looking and certainly the best Halo to date, but there's no denying in some parts it's a little rough, and doesn't use that much AA etc. Always been the case with the Halo engine though.

Personally it sounds like you've just been spoilt by PC gaming, I'd try more games first.
