Am I the only one?

It's a bit slow and clunky of my iPhone 4S. Apps like Twitter and Facebook are definitely taking longer to open. I've had one reboot as well when opening a particularly demanding app.

Interesting to take a look around. Not sure if I'll keep it or go back to iOS 6.

Yeah, agreed- a bit clunky on my 4S. Did yours get very hot too to begin with? Mine seems to have settled down, but I had to leave it powered off and off charge for 10 minutes to let it cool...

Also had a few odd moments where the screen has gone to minimum brightness, had to lock and unlock to get it back again.

Other than that, I quite like it. It probably won't stop me moving to Android though for my next mobile though, I was really hoping for some widget/live tile action in iOS, I use them a lot on Android.

I'm a fan of everything in iOS7 bar the icons :(

I think this just about nails it. I love the minimalism, the use of Helvetica Thin, Control Centre, Airdrop and the translucency - although that awful multicoloured bubble wallpaper Apple is using in the press shots make Control Centre look a bit messy, so I'd make it a bit less transparent if it was up to me.

But those icons ... jeez ... I cannot believe that those are the product of someone of Jony Ive's undoubted talent - they make the whole thing look a bit Fisher Price. The Safari icon in the dock looks particularly naff and cheap. iOS WAS due an overhaul as it had become a bit of a mish-mash of styles, but maybe Ive should have stuck to hardware, at which he is almost peerless.

That said, I will be installing it once any initial bugs are ironed out :)

Yes, it's been getting quite hot. Battery dropped from 95% to 58% in two hours as well. It's definitely beta software at the moment. :)

Runs pretty well on the 4S bar the odd slowdown here and there. I really like it. Its like my old iPhone but with some new features I have really wanted for a while and a nice new look. I think once we are a few micro releases in it will be really nice and cohesive throughout.

Do all the interface effects like translucency and parallax work?

I have an issue....
Google maps is refusing to update.... Just says waiting and doesn't do anything

It's always risky trying beta releases of new versions of iOS, especially when you need to depend on your phone to complete day-to-day tasks.

If it's that much of a problem downgrading back to iOS 6 is relatively straightforward.

Had a few complete system crashes with the phone app, funny thing is, I've realised that mine updated to iOS 7 without requiring a restore or resync, everything was still there, even all the apps I had running....

After killing them all it seems a little more stable. Might do a full restore at some point, but will see how I get on for the moment.

Something I've noticed that's haven't seen mentioned anywhere.. The clock app displays the correct time on the icon as a live tile:)

Features are great (if a little derivative) but the look is very unpolished. Simplicity is one thing, but the front end you will be looking at most of the time is just garish and cheap. Icons especially look like a Chinese knockoff of iphone. It has that 1980ies plastic jewellery infantile look. In many ways the "less is more" aspect of it would work better if it was smokey/translucent black instead of white. There is a reason they use white iphones in advert, it has to be presented as girly to be acceptable. Grey and black is elegant. It's simple. White in OSX should be forever gone, together with clam and pearl shaped icomputers of yesteryear. Whoever designed icons colour scheme needs to calibrate screen on their workstation.

Have to say, I like the look now I'm used to it.

Performance isn't amazing in some places, particularly closing running apps, but all acceptable.

Battery life (4S) is mega!

It looks like the progeny of an unholy union of a clown and touchwiz. All neon, hot pink and pastels.

And white, white eeeeverywhere. Icons are designed by some kind of demented fool.

What the hell have they done? everything is all wireframe and airy fairy.

I can't even look at it it's so disgusting.

I have found battery life to be improved also
iPhone 5
So far today, 2 hours of music, 30 minutes of or so web browsing, fairly regular imessaging and much more general playing and I've dropped to 83% since 6:30
Normally I'm at around 60% by lunch time (12ish)

Why do lines/bars mean more than dots?

Simply because the row of bars has become synonomous with signal stregth, show someone the old signal strength indicator even completely out of context and the chances are they will know what it is much like the wi-fi symbol. The row of dots means nothing and could be used to indicate anything so for me it is a pointless change it adds nothing to the interface and takes away the instant recognition of the established graphic.
