That is true in his case. I suggest he goes for the 4200+ then since he wants AMD and at stock there seems to be very little between it and the 6300.easyrider said:He's spending 200 quid on a raptor with a window.I doubt he will be strapped for the extra 25 quid the conroe would cost!
I agree but for some. £25 really is a big difference. On my new system the CPU is the thing that i have saved the most money on because i know i will be likely to upgrade in 6-12months down the line. Till then it offers me all the performance i am going to need.easyrider said:99% of people want the fastest system their money can buy.
I was not disagreeing that it didn't stress the system. I disagreed that it is a good example to use. It is not representative of todays most advanced games or engines. Like FEAR, the engine is highly unoptimised and uneconomical with system resources.easyrider said:Oblivion is a game that stresses any system. Its a good example to use in this case.
As said, at stock, the 4200+ and the 6300 are very close.easyrider said:I don't care what he gets,I'm merely pointing out that going AM2 is the wrong decision.Based on the fact that its slower and will cost roughly the same.
See above.easyrider said:What's 25 quid when buying a complete new system?
Nothing, the arguement does not hold water.
25 quid can be saved elsewhere on the system not on the Brain of the computer the most important part of any modern day PC.

As for your system build... why is the SATA cable still in there?
I am not sure what the OCZ PSUs are like. THey are probably pretty good though.
The memory should be fine also.
