AM4 B350/X370 black screen crash thread

Does it do it if you run Realbench with "up to 8GB RAM"? might just be issue with running out of RAM, memory management is not exactly Windows strong point. :p

Yes I've even tried it on 4GB and the same happens. I've just borrowed a 850w corsair PSU from a friend and the same again. There is nothing left to check. Either its the CPU or the motherboard or BIOS. The motherboard was from scam and I've put in an RMA for that also. I think I'm going to stick with intel for the time being.

I've just been reading the link one111 posted about Ryzen crashing when running the "Single-Precision - 128-bit FMA3 - Fused Multiply" test. I'm glad I resisted the temptation it looks like more and more issues are popping up.

So you have the MSI B350 tomohawk ?

It may well be, but the system is not fit for purpose in its current state. I'm out of ideas.

Run at stock check
1 stick of ram check
Up to date bios check
Up to date drivers check
Temps ok check?

Have you tried another test ?

Have you tried prime blend test for a short period ?

I feel your pain.

Same across two different boards, three sets of memory.

Only things seem to work:
1) 980ti replaced with Gt 730 at stock
2) with the 980ti, stock, and upping power limits.

Don't want to, but may try again with Gt 730 and see what happens running over stock.

Unlike the Corsair memory, the crucial defaults to 2400mhz, meaning it dies.

Ideally though you'd need another high powered graphics card to test with, if it's some sort of power issue or stress on the PCI-E bus testing with a GT730 is just circumventing the problem. Do you have another system to test your 980Ti in?

Have you tried massively downclocking the CPU and trying the graphics card?

This still won't tell you if it is the CPU or Mobo if the test passes, but i'd it fails I'd say it is the Mobo.

Yeah, I know... But how much money am I supposed to throw at figuring this out?

Had black screen twice, both times I was loading MS Android Emulator. The PC has been quite stable apart from that.
PC Spec:
X1800@stock
MSI B350 tomohawk
4*8GB RAM @1866
