drinking 4 pints with a meal out, which usually implies an occasion or just good socialising, within half an hour whilst trying to eat and talk just doesnt add up.

I like amaretto, and i dont care whether its a girly drink because its not "60% whisky" or whatever, its sweet and i like it in coffee or even chocolate milkshakes!

I drank 3 pints in half an hour once (special offer finishing at 2pm) I was so gassed up I could barely walk and I'm amazed I never crashed my bus.

how much talking did you get done whilst drinking? and how much did you eat? i'm guessing not much and maybe a bag of crisps lol.

Some of you really are showing your age.

You ought to drink to enjoy the drink and savour the taste, not knock back as much as you can in the shortest possible time.

There's nothing big or clever in being able to consume a lot of alcohol, it is just an utter waste of money in my view.

Well I had my head out the window most of the time so I ate a few big flies. If shouting at traffic counts as conversation I got through a fair bit of that too.

people calling alcoholic drinks alcohol all the time really gets on my nerves.

"oh john lets go to the pub and get some alcohol"

I think its a middle class thing, as the only people i have actually met that use the word alcohol so genericaly are public school oiks in oxford.

Cant you say i had a BEER i had a glass of WINE a had a shot of RUM

Why bother specifying? I don't feel the need to tell most people exactly what or how much I drank the other night so I just say I went for a drink which is almost exactly the same as saying I went for alcohol.

If I were to try and go for a countback then on several nights I'm pretty sure I couldn't tell you and it doesn't matter in the least what it was. Does it?

I tried a cocktail in our local club the other week, called a diablo i think, had all the different kinds of aftershock in it, was bloody horrible!
