Amazing Temperature 66C at 4GHz !

my batch is 3848, not 3849. bugger..... hope it's going to be ok...

Don't we all ever wish go to OCUK shop and ask OCUK to bring all cpu processor batches number which we can pick and choose which batches number whatever we want and take it home. :) I reckon the staffs at OCUK can pick one of their best batches and take it home on their computer would be a lucky one for them. Maybe I am wrong here but just interesting thought.

Not to worry mate, I have seen some good clocks with 3848 over at XS, but didn't comment as I haven't used one myself, I only comment on the ones I have used. TBH I think most are fairly good with some excellent ones.

That would be nice, they prolly take a lot of different ones home to play with and tell their boss they are stress testing them for work and claim Over-Time too :), that is pretty cool

The place I get my CPUs from will actually check if asked. don't think all places do but some will, which is good.

Both are very good but I choose H50 better because of amazing lower temp plus more roomy inside the case ! So I can fit my side panel fan on my antec 1200 to cool down my graphic card. There is nothing wrong with Prolimatech Megahalems because I cannot fit the fan on the side panel because of this cpu cooler was huge inside.

I was going to be getting the Prolimatech for my up coming build, didnt even know the H50 exsited before reading this thread. So now the H50 looks like a contender, when you think that the Prolimatech is £45 and then add a quality fan another £10 and if you want push/pull setup another £10, in which case the Prolimatech and 2 fans would cost £5 more than the H50!!

Bulldog how loud is the fan on the H50, and also where have to placed the rad in your 1200 case?

Its a fantastic cooler, Heres mine with the temps.....

Temps after 7 hours prime95 small fft and ambient temps of around 27c case temp 34c

far superior to the Fenrir with 2x sythe 1900rpm fans. that was hitting 86c.

The H50 is awesome, did you find that using two fans in push pull worked better than the Corsair recommended of having them as intake?

If I was going to use this, I wouldn't replace my intake fans. It's pretty good as it is. Would rather have it as an exhaust as in the pic above. With push-pull fans. However, from what I have heard, the Megahalems is awesome also. I would really need to test both and see which is better.

The Fans are set as push/pull taking air from inside the case and exhausting it out the back as a conventional HSF. I found that temps were 2-3c lower this way with a well ventilated case. I tried it the other way like corsair recommend today and I had an idle temp increase of 4c.
The akasa apache fans make the corsair almost silent as well.

Seems like Corsair delayed the shipping of the second batch due to the countersunk screw issue on these H50's. Seems we will start seeing large volumes in the next week or so, this is what Corsair told me.

I was going to use push pull with one of these but don't have matched fans, was going to use the supplied fan with a Scythe S Flex, is it a bad idea to push pull with different fans?

Basically the screws on the heatsink not being flush and not getting a good seat on the CPU. Corsair delayed the second batch to screen all the coolers thoroughly to check this issue has been completely wiped out.

The techs at OcUK are brilliant IMO.. this particular CPU that rjkoneill cherry picked for you is amazing!!

I am awaiting my replacement CPU to be shipped to me from here, as I was having some trouble with my current OEM i920 D0 where my system was only seeing 4GB instead of 6GB, and when they testing my chip they couldn't find any faults with it whatsoever, but they have still went and shipped me out a brand new chip anyway!!

I don't know of any other e-tailer that would do something like this.. in my experience with other e-tailers, they have always been happy to take my cash, but when a problem arises, they aren't so keen to do anything about it... but not OcUK.. so from now on, I will only ever use these guys for purchasing hardware..

@Gaidin, I have been planning on grabbing a couple of those Akasa fans you have fitted on your Corsair H50, would you say that they were worth the money or not?

I assume they are dead silent as well right?

I hear a lot of people complaining about the color scheme, but I quite like the color tbh, they look a hell of a lot better than the Noctua color scheme that's for sure!!!

I hope that my replacement chip will be half as good as your one bulldog!!!

Definitely worth the cash, You can get 2 for a little more than 1 Noctua and IMO the apache is the better fan, and yes even at full 1300rpm they are almost silent, my PC is right next to on the desktop and all I can hear is the GPU.

I am using my H50 with apache fans with a push-pull and temperature is 3-4 degrees lower than the corsair single fan 1600rpm. So, 2 x 1300rpm is lot better than the single fan with a little bit noise on the corsair fan. But, apache fan is very quiet with a push-pull but cannot hear it at all. It blowing from inside to the outtake is better result. I don't use intake because I don't like this idea from corsair with too much heat inside.

I had done testing with a push-pull apache fans with 41 mins of small ffts on prime95 as temperature is excellent of just below 70C with the H50. Tjmax is set at 100 on the realtemp and I also set my vcore at 1.2v on windows because I believe this vcore of 1.2v will work well for many bundles i7 920 at 4Ghz with 191x21 or 192x21 with intel turbo boost with turbo mode on whatever your need of your choice for 4Ghz overclock.
