Guys

Beyond annoyed, ordered a new phone off the rainforest to come on Tuesday. Delivery from Amazon delayed and changed to Wednesday contacted them and they refunded the next day full delivery cost fair enough.

Fast forward to Wednesday and I got called to a meeting with work so couldn't be in. Checked the Amazon app and apparantly it had been left with number 87. Okay I thought.

Got home no calling card and no bloody 87 on my street!!! Wtf

Asked all neighbours must have knocked on about 6 to 7 doors to see of any sign. Nothing

Contacted amazon and this was there response

Dear Thomas,

I am very sorry you received your delivery at such an inconvenience!

The carrier don't need a permission from you to deliver shipments to neighboring residents, because it is not forbidden and is considered as proper delivery.

If you would like to limit deliveries to certain recipients, we recommend you contact the carrier directly. They will gladly inform you about different post option.

We just received feedback from the inquiry we submitted for your order

The investigation has shown that the carrier was able to get a signature from "Andy Clark" (house number 87) and delivered your order on 26. September 2018 at 06:33 PM. Please contact this person to receive your shipment if you recognize the name. Based on the result of our investigation we conclude that your shipment has been delivered to the correct address and therefore we can't issue a refund or a replacement.

If you have reason to believe that your ordered items or shipment has been stolen, you are, of course, free to contact the police. If the case cannot be clarified by the police please contact us again and send a copy of the file by e-mail, including the file number and police station.

We thank you for your understanding and wish you a nice day.

Warmest regards,
Philipp Mahlow

My frustration is delivery was never even attempted at my house. No sign of any delivery driver from my Ring doorbell CCTV.

Where do I stand and what do I do now, apparantly they are investigating it.

I simply cannot believe how this / has happened and feel very let down and at the moment out of pocket from Amazon's mess up

Another email which reads they are escalating it? Not sure they seem very firm and slightly up front on their stance of this.

Dear Thomas,

I took a further look into your account and I have seen that we already investigate in this case.

I am sorry, but I can't provide any further help.

We will contact you when we have completed the investigation.

Please accept our sincere apologies for this unpleasant situation.

Have a wonderful day!

Warmest regards,
Bojan Lazarevic

I have a feeling this is going to be a battle. My girl is going to stop by a road with the same name tomorrow to see if its landed there. I feel absolutely gutted at the possibility of £400 going walkies

I'm guessing this is Hermes ?

DPD won't leave parcels with a neighbor or in safe place unless I've specified either on my Amazon account .Also they usually take a picture of the door they deliver too and of course have GPS tracking.

Stick to your guns on this, you shouldn't end up £400 out of pocket.

It just says Amazon Shipping on my account

I'm absolutely furious the more I think about this. 15 years ordering online never anything like this.

Just spoke again to them over phone. Got a very sympathetic lady but the manager tried his hardest to evade me and said they have a special department for this

Apparantly the special department are investigating it I'm not holding out hope and will push my bank for a charge back possibly today as its going round in circles.

The lady on the phone was at disbelief herself of the negligence of the delivery driver.

This seems bizarre. Their own tracking says a different house number (a number that isn't on your street) and shows a signature that wasn't you.

So they have delivered it to completely the wrong address, yet they are being obstructive!?

Did you even get a card through your door saying it was left with a neighbor?

I didn't even get a card and now amazon are at the point of just copying and pasting their original reply to every email I send to them

I genuinely cannot believe I am in this situation with them

I will be contacting my bank today

Have you tried calling them? Although you may not get a more helpful response it just might be easier to talk to someone about this.

With regards to the bank. If you can get to a point of a charge-back this will probably nuke any Amazon accounts (incl. Twitch etc.) and content as I suspect Amazon may just remove and deactivate any account. May not be a concern, but just flagging.

Other than that I would recommend also reaching out to their twitter team, you may get a more positive response. Could also try the Jeff Bezos twitter team to see if they are more helpful.

Yep called multiple times.

I'm now speaking to bank to get charge back sorted if possible end of my tether with it.

Charge back request started with Halifax. Do not really care if I lose my amazon account enough is enough.

I'm getting scripted responses from here on out from Amazon. If anything changes I will cancel. CB request.

I am not prepared to put anymore precious time into this

That is a bit premature no? If the issue occurred on Wednesday then you complained and got the first reply yesterday and then an update saying they're still looking into it then I'd surely wait for that to be resolved, there is still a good chance that someone has actually got your phone and it would be a bit dodgy to charge back £400 because you've been impatient or are letting yourself get needlessly worked up about it. You shouldn't need to call up multiple times etc.. if they're already looking into it.

How is it premature. The order was placed a week ago. I am without £400 of goods. I am getting scripted replies from Amazon from here on out from their special team that they regarded it as delivered yet the lady on the phone says they are still looking into it.

Mixed messages and as the hours go by I am more and more annoyed about it. I'll just leave the bank to swing its thing and sort it out.

I am wasting precious time. Its not unreasonable to expect an immediate resolve on this from Amazon given the circumstances
