Amazon delivery driver gets stuck on my grass

I don't know what's funnier their attempts to get it out failing or the fact several people on here think all three of them work for Amazon and they will seek revenge if he was to complain.

I got a driver sacked once. He worked for a massive green haulage company tuffnells iirc. He took my home address as part of the swapping of insurance details after he reversed his 5 tonne lorry into the side of my stationary car. He then refused to give me his details and said ring the office luckily I'd taken several pictures of his lorry so I did and reported him and the manager called me back to say he was going down the disciplinary route and seeking dismissal as not only was he at fault, he shouldn't have had another person in the lorry with him and he shouldn't have taken my details and refused to give his own thereafter. Apparently he had taken his mate or son along with him for the ride and possibly invalidated the companies insurance policy but I didn't press the matter his manager accepted liability and said he would get his insurers to sort mine out.

I've never seen the guy again even though he has my address and it's been 5 years.

Surprised they had trouble getting that out - one of our drivers did worse and 2 people pushed him back onto the road no hassle albeit they were bigger build than those lads.

EDIT: Not sure from the video if that is the Vivaro or the Partner - but the Peugeot version of the van is quite dreadful in situations like this in my experience - we've trashed the clutch on more than one and the gearbox in general seems to suck at putting down power in this kind of scenario and they were probably better maintained and on better tyres - I'm guessing this one was on poor tyres with minimum tread left.

When there are more cars parked on the drive delivery drivers do have to reverse back up the driveway, in the past we've had grass churned up or plants damaged where they've not been able to stay on the track. On one occasion a driver left most of their wingmirror on the drive. Shocking how poor some of these delivery drivers are at manoeuvring. Given that I try and park so that there is plenty of space to turn so that drivers can spin around and not face a long reverse up a hill and around a bend.

With only the camper and range rover on the drive there is space to spin around a much bigger van if you are not a complete idiot. Why would he choose to turn left onto grass when there is hardstanding on his right?

Because he made a daft decision, as I said in the post you replied to.

As you know from prior experience, that happens. If I was in your position and it bothered me, I would put a little fence along the edge. Anything visible will do, even if it's just 6 inches high and easily stepped over. The issue isn't malicious damage, so any "don't drive past this point" marker will do the trick.

Seems like a honest mistake to me, sure they could have gone a better way of turning the van around so wouldn't get stuck but to take it further?..i wouldn't bother.

Having watched the video, they're just numpties. I would report them as they look like they'd struggle to find another job!

I think you should cry on here, instead of telling amazon

Posted for amusement of others and opinions.

Seems there is a split between complain and get amazon to pay for damage and just leave it as it wasnt malicious.

I am a cross that there was no hint of apology. If Id done that I would have been far more contrite.

These lads were total numpties. When they didn't have a towing eye and were asking where to attach the rope, I regret not telling them to jump in the back and hold it while I tow them. They would have done it.

Yeah I'd not bother reporting it. Just take the lolz and get on with your life. Getting someone potentially sacked before Christmas over something so silly just seems the wrong thing to do to me.

To be honest the Amazon recruitment process is not as loose as the likes of hermes, they do checks for criminal records and all sorts now. The Amazon drivers in my area are great.

Make the youtube links private, then go to the red top scummy newspapers, they'd eat this sort of stuff up and probably give you a few hundred quid in the process, which could cover the repairs!

It's just grass, no need to grass them up, it will grow back

Although I am curious why there's 3 of them surely they're not all employed as deliverers doesn't seem very cost effective

Few large rocks, big enough to damage a car small enough you can hide them in the grass. Years of entertainment when people try to drive on the grass.

Eh, at least they are trying to work. I think I would just leave it. Not saying they haven't done wrong but potentially getting them fired can't be good for anyone.
