Amazon Echo - anyone have one?

Oooh! And another useful thing. If you "Alexa, open radioplayer"... It'll open on your previous radio station automatically.

Not tried it with tunein, but it might work...

I think if you've closed Alexa, you can also just do a "Alexa start" to pick up where you left off possibly?

Got the dot and enjoying it so far. I had Spotify and the music was great but changed over to amazon music unlimited to have everything under one account. When i ask it to play a song it says it can't find it in my library. does it work searching over the net or do i have to add everything to my library first.

Thanks

Surely it should be seemless once you add Amazon music? ie: Ask for a track/artist and if it exists in Amazon music is should play it?

It's seamless with Spotify so I would expect it to be at least as good with Amazon.

There must be another Echo user here with Amazon Music, so hopefully they can clear it up. Failing that I can ask someone I know next week who has it (& an Echo).

Just spoke to a work colleague who has an Echo and Amazon music. They imply it's seemless to browse/access the full library of music. Except when trying to find "Kraftwerk" :) Which is couldn't find!

Thanks i will give it a go tonight. In the alexa app under music you have my music library and amazon music. when i do the search it is always looking in my library.

Nice contribution. Pointless comment, even then it's based on something you heard?

TBH... Given what's demonstrated by that contribution, one has to wonder if maybe it's a good thing the poster doesn't actually want one given the hurlde plugging it in and setting it up might pose :)

I
True using "tunein" or "radioplay" in the command? (Note: radio play is a skill you need to add).

Woah. Yeah getting there just saying "play tunein" plays the podcasts in my favorites in tunein I think...at least it's actually playing spinnin sessions now haha

Edit ahh just doing most recent station. I'll give radio play a go

Edit2 sorted "Alexa, play spinnin sessions podcast on TuneIn"

My Amazon dot has randomly said things twice since I've got it 2 weeks ago.

Yesterday Alexa said "um I didn't understand that question", but I had not asked her anything or said anything that remotely sounded like I was sending Alexa a command.

Anyone else had this?

yes it picks up tv noise and randomly says the same thing and does everything except what I ask it too!!

Mine has done it a couple of times now, but then I realise I'm listening to a tech podcast and they just mentioned Alexa...

It should just play as it did with Spotify (I recently moved over after getting an Amazon Unlimited Family account). Have you changed the default music player in the Alexa app? It might still be looking at Spotify first.

The TV can set it off, and the people on the TV doesn't necessarily need to say Alexa, at least not that it sounds like Alexa to me.
