Amazon Logistics

Is it compulsory that you hire a van for £150 a week, could you not use your own van?

It might sound like hard work but what you described would probably suit some people, especially folk in low paid jobs. £600 a week driving around and without a boss on your shoulder would be ideal.

We looked into it at work awhile back as we have a small fleet with irregular workload and from what I recall it was just that the van has to be upto a certain standard - which if you don't have a van of that standard will cost you about that a week to hire.

You could use your own van yes, however you couldn't work whenever you wanted as if you didn't do the 6 days a week you wouldn't be given a route and would be told to go home.

I imagine it is a much better prospect if you own your own van as not getting work isn't so bad, however there was something about paying £150 and then only getting 3 shifts a week that didn't sit well with me. You'd then be working 36+ hour weeks for £150.

Yeah i've had multiple shocking experiences with amazon logistics... if it happens once or twice yeah fair enough. But it has happened multiple times them losing stuff/being late or delivering wrong place leaving it somewhere... that kind of crapp.

But the drivers are probably paid badly... so if they have to redeliver something it costs them. So I kind of understand... I don't blame the guys driving the vans. I blame the tax dodging bell ends known as amazon.

They are useless, they left my GPU in my recycling bin. Could not find it for about an hour.

BAHAHAHAHHA

well the delivery we have been waiting for for the last 2 days still did not arrive. So checked the tracking info and it recons its been bloody delivered to my address. No signing info no names etc.

Bloody ****ed off is not the word.

So call amazon, get the usual bs were sorry it says it been delivered, have you checked the neighbours and your garden......

Of course i have you stupid phone answering type person... I wouldnt have called if it was there would I.

So they have to send out another order now thats not going to come until bloody tuesday maybe...

So on Wednesday they "delivered my parcel with a neighbour" "signed for by John Smith (name change)" none of my neighbours are called John. And the parcel was no where to be seen! So got onto Amazon and complained, as I do about once a month...

Because John's real name was not very usual and am near a university I looked them up on google and they appeared!

So Amazon Logistics delivered to Flat 1/2 2 Street Name opposed to Flat 2/1 12 Street Name. How is that even possible?

Well this Flat 1/2 2/1 business is enough to confuse anyone. Whats that all about?

It's all about the drivers you get. The ones that do my area are great so I have nothing but praise. Same goes with every other courier. I guess I'm really lucky with my area.

I ordered a usb hub last week on next day with prime. It didn't turn up till the day after. Apparently the item went out if stock soon after i ordered so they had to source it from elsewhere. Had no information about this from Amazon. I got my free trial of prime extended for 1 month and £17 CREDIT (I went on live chat multiple times as i wasn't getting a straight answer and they kept adding money lol till the last person actually did there job and called to see what happened)

In the past CDs and DVDs etc were delivered by RM in letterbox sided packaging and all the postie had to do was slip it through my letterbox. I didn't have to be at home either when this happened.

Now they use bigger packaging which no longer fits through the letterbox so the Amazon Logistics courier has to leave it with a neighbour 5 doors down the street. Talk about going backwards.

That may be a supplier or warehouse thing, I've had stuff through the letterbox with prime

Single DVD or CD would still go into a package that would fit through the letterbox. Only get AMZL when I get a box of stuff from Amazon, otherwise comes via RM

I ordered a book which they tried to deliver on Saturday. I had an email to say they couldn't deliver it because I wasn't there - fair enough. Sunday came, and the book came through the letterbox....WHY WOULDN'T YOU DO THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE?!

I've had some funny ones - bought a 3 pin fan cable - came in a box the size of 2 shoe boxes lol.

We've had a few 'large' boxes turn up and you've had to search through that awful recycled paper 'stuffing' to find the goods. I'm sure the packers do it on purpose.

Yeah same in this case - found a pic I took at the time - literally just those items and a ton of brown paper in that box.
