Amazon Pilot, Bosch.

Prime Video's interface and search is a shambles compared to netflix.

If you search for X when using a 4k display it should automatically give you the 4k version as the first (or like netflix, only) result, not require you to add additional search terms or go through half a dozen other items to reach it (last time I searched for something I knew was in 4k it was on something like page 3 of the results, whilst the hd version was the first result).

Didn't think that it was just me.
I agree, it should be much easier to find content in 4k when you are watching in 4k.
I can't remember if it was Sneaky Pete, could have been something else, but we ended up watching the first half of the season at HD as we couldn't find the 4k version, not even sure that it was available.
It seems very chaotic compared to Netflix.

Just finished series 6. This show is very high up my top 10 shows of all time list. I really need to read the books, I’ve had the first 2 for a couple of years but haven’t got found to reading them. Now’s the time I suppose.

Only half way through S6 but it's still excellent. Genuinely pleased that they've kept the quality so high for so long.

I'm still thinking back to the Korea Town Killer though.
I always thought it was odd that he just died off-screen after such an apparent buildup.

Not that I was worried but glad to hear it's still stellar - will get on it when we finish S6 of The Americans.

Michael Connelly is one of three favourite authors, the books are very good although some of the earlier ones can be a bit slow and perhaps focusing a little too much on Vietnam (less meaningful for a Brit born later than perhaps an older American reader). I've stopped reading books for the last year or two but I'd love to get the time to pick it up agian. One of the things I like about the TV series is it is (relative to some screen adaptations) reasonably true to the books, albeit they weave a few stories together from different books and obviously update things for the modern era (i.e. some of his earlier works are written in a time when information was much harder to come by, no widespread mobile phone or telecomms infrastructure, so some of the plot would be influenced by that, use of pagers/phone boxes, more painstaking research etc). If your profile age is accurate I don't think this should be a problem.

The Black Echo is perhaps not that accessible (I haven't read it in perhaps 10yrs but it felt quite slow with some abstract 'Nam stuff) so if you don't get on with it maybe try something like Trunk Music or Angel Falls.

Thanks. Yes my age is accurate and I like slow burners. I love detective books/films/TV, some of my favourite books are the 87th Precint books by Ed Mcbain and, though some might argue this is more sci fi but they are at their heart detective stories that just happen to be set thousands of years in the future, the Elijah Bailey books by Asimov.

I’ve now started The Black Echo and I am enjoying it. I shall read them all in order and I’ve started watching the series again, watching episode 9 on series 1 as I type, and I’m wondering what it’d be like to read a Bosch book whilst having the program on at the same time.

Finished season 6 last night and loved every minute of it. The only downside is I own and have read all the books, so there are never any major surprises. I still love watching the series though as the casting, acting, writing and directing is superb and they really bring the stories to life and Titus Welliver is most definitely Harry Bosch. :)

That was really good, as expected...

One slight quibble/plot hole with the extortion thingie though... Chief drops out then endorses some other candidate instead of the car salesman, when car salesman isn't too chuffed he reminds the car salesman that the extortion thing won't go well for him either...

Problem is it isn't like the car salesman is the only one in the know about the recording nor is it like the recording is some individual object etc.. there are now copies - a journalist has a back up (he claimed) and the women who had possession of it (daughter of the cop who had the heart attack) seems to have a vendetta agains the chief... seems a bit odd that he's not phased about that/ignoring that aspect.

Would it not be more damaging in a mayoral campaign? And perhaps more manageable in other situations/one extortion at a time :p. I really didn't take to Rodgers daughter.

Good season, started to get worried they had forgotten about the anti-federalists until that thread picked back up in the last episode. Bosch saying "grrr" was my highlight.

GAH no way is season 6 out ! Mega hyped, ill have to put this on immediately and not leave my pit until its watched, i will have bedsores, see you in a few days.

Wasnt really engaged with S5, watched 4 episodes when it came out and only finished it last week so i could watch S6. It did get better to be fair.
However really enjoying S6 , upto ep6 in a few days, much more compelling.

The video in the spoiler tags isn’t really a spoiler but it makes more sense if you’ve seen series 6.

great trailer!! love that.

Finished season 6 - superb again - love it. Really well polished characters, I feel totally invested in them as individuals. Want to know what happens next to them all. Really good.

Agree, enjoyed the whole of season six. Most compelling.
Titus Welliver nails the character

Spoiler tags need to be used here a little more, me thinks.
