Amazon Prime Day

I don't really get the Hue bulbs. Don't most free standing light fixtures take more than one bulb? You could be paying £80 for one lamp effectively just so you can turn it up and down. I bought a wifi plug instead and turn that on and off with Alexa.

You can change the colour, colour temp, brightness etc and it's Apple homekit integrated. You can set it all up with motion detectors so when you walk into a room the bulb comes on and then it goes off when no more movement is detected.

I assume you can set a time for that to happen. Lights going on in the day would be pointless.

What happens if you are sitting still watching TV?

They have daylight sensors so don't come on in the day. If you're watching TV then there would be some movement I imagine. I haven't tried them myself yet, I'm slowly building into it.

Bought some Hue stuff to finish off some of the rooms in the house that didn't have them. Bit gutted the LED strips weren't on offer though! 40% saved :)

Added yet another Hue bulb, but as above, really wanted another light strip :(

Want a bluetooth speaker for the garage now when I'm training. Any on there that are any good? Want it as cheap as possible but is going to sound reasonable (better than playing music directly on my phone for example)

I've got the Anker Soundcore Mini which is cracking for its size/price. I'd suggest the larger Anker ones for training in the garage

I was considering a Bose speaker before Amazon Prime Day and I've just come across the SoundTouch 10 + Echo Dot for £149. The speaker on average is £169 at all other major retailers. I could sell the Echo for around £40, so the speaker would essentially cost me £129. Worth it?

Reviews are extremely positive.

Got a Panasonic 4K blu ray player for £175. Not sure if my av receiver will handle 4K pass through though. Guess I'll find out tomorrow

Personally I think that Sonos is a better system.

And don't forget you can have all the lights flashing like a disco :D

Keep getting amazon emails pestering me for this but as I don't have prime in not even opening them for fear of temptation

Yowsers I need to calm down; Done £368 stinkers already!
-Seagate 8TB deal

The UE Boom 2 is a really good bluetooth speaker - it's not on prime day but still it is reduced to £99.

I'm a bit miffed that Amazon sent me a notification about Prime Day last week sometime but nothing last night or today, I just stumbled across it when I was browsing having completely forgotten about it
