Amazon Prime Payment Deduction

The only way Prime could be better for me is if I was within the area which gets the 2 hour delivery.

I now find myself buying anything and everything on prime.

I signed up for 30 day trials of Apple Music and Experian and forgot to cancel before the free 30 day trial was up, they bagged an extra month subscription out of me.

I agree things could be clearer and reminders sent but its not a scam OP.
What should I call it then? They took the money and didnt even give me a receipt. If I took £79 from your wallet and didn't tell you and you found out 5 months later. What would you call it?

"Opt-out" promotions are not legally binding. The UK courts ruled last year or the year before on this. Phone Amazon and ask for your money back; you didn't sign up for it.

They sold you a service you agreed to but haven't used...? Not sure how it can be a scam.

They even told you when you weren't using a service you'd paid for...!
They didn't sell me it. They deducted the £79 and didn't inform me of it. My mistake was not checking my Bank Staments monthly.

Amazon prime is worth every penny.

However maybe you should take some responsibility and a) check what you are signing up for and b) take better care of your finances so you would have noticed it hit your credit card.

Why would it be on your order, a subscription to prime is a separate transaction to the items. It wont be on the receipt of the items you first use prime for.

Did the original receipt make a mention of standard delivery or paid for delivery?
Yes I paid for their standard delivery on that order.

I recieved a letter today telling me I wasn't using any of my Amazon Prime Video Benefits. The letter gave detailed ways to access my Prime account and how to set it up on all my devices. But I wasn't aware I had Amazon Prime. I'm sure I unclicked the box for Amazon Prime at time of Checkout Payment for my online orders. So I looked in my Amazon Prime Section and turns out they deducted £79 from my credit card and just decided not to tell me on the 18th July 2016. And there was a "handy reminder" telling me when the next payment would be taken out. I cancelled my Prime Account and as I haven't used their Video services I will be given a full refund within 7-10 working day. If they didn't take the time to post me this letter i'd have been none the wiser. My main concern was I could have gone overdrawn on my Bank Account. Luckly I had enough money in at the time to cover that payment. I suggest you take 5 mins outta your day and check your accounts to see if youve been scammed like me.

Huh? Scammed? You forgot to untick the Prime box, or checked it, or forgot, or accepted it. Amazon make it very clear when you're signing up to Prime.

Don't be so careless. How did you not notice a random £79 coming out of your CC?

I've also been scammed by amazon!
I ordered a £23 bottle of whisky and I only noticed when I checked my bank statements a coupe of weeks after it arrived that they had taken the £23 out of my bank account!!!
It's a hard pill to swallow when you get "ripped off" by someone else.

There is a cancel your subcription button in the Prime Account settings. That refunds you if you didn't use the service, which I've done. Thanks.

Sounds like it's all sorted now. You have to remember though this forum is for people who overclock their computers, and the stereotype The Simpsons did of someone like that (Comicbook guy) isn't actually that far from reality.
