Amazon..

So many people have clicked the free trial and then not cancelled, amazon must be rolling.

its one of the delivery options for a lot of stuff my missus almost did it not knowing what it was but luckily she asked me first..

I bet loads of people do the trial not realising what it is

89 orders here so far, Amazon are my favourite retailer.

Prime is awesome, especially with the Saturday delivery, and as above, ordering on Sunday and receiving on Monday = win!

They'll be the same people who click yes to every popup or install dialog box then say "we'll I didn't put that on my PC, don't know where it came from" :D

Amazon's Prime trial is one of the clearer ones some of the others are even more subtle. I'm loving Prime, ordered loads with the next day delivery and get a Kindle Book every month on their Lending Library system.

As a matter of interest, I posted in this thread because it's still open. But I have to admit I'm kind of surprised it was never closed considering it's about a huge competitor. Not that I want it closed, but seems a bit odd since obviously it's a general rule that we don't discuss rival etailers.

Agreed. Prime is great value and also includes the borrowing of top kindle books:

"Kindle device owners with an Amazon Prime membership can borrow popular Kindle books at no extra cost, as frequently as one book per month and with no due dates. Choose from over 200,000 titles, including all seven Harry Potter books and other top sellers in the Amazon.co.uk Kindle Store".

@original op - when signing up for the trial it makes it very clear that failing to cancel means you will be enrolled on and billed for a years membership. You have the option to set it so it doesn't recur. In fairness I think Amazon couldn't be more open and transparent about it.

Prime is the reason I have so many email addresses.

Even the guy on the phone at amazon said "just create a new email address each month the address does not matter".

My ebook gets a few borrows each month from Prime users.

I have it on my account. It's awesome.

It's very easy to see it when they offer it to you. Not sneaky at all..

To be fair, most free trial type things automatically roll over to paid unless you cancel before the end of the trial.

If you order from Amazon regularly, it is definitely worth it though.

I'm not angry

And also to be fair to Amazon, at least they allow you to quickly cancel online without having to go through a pointless phone call whilst someone on the other end begs you to continue with the service.

When I signed up it was very clear it would charge me £49 after the free period, and they send you an email as well....

Amazon has to be the best 'free trial' there is. You can literally cancel the second after you got it and still keep it for a while month. They've even offered it to me twice.

My Lovefilm free trial, now that was a pain, ended up having to phone up to cancel it, this was before Amazon took over though, I've heard it's quite pain free nowadays.
