AMD 7990

is this ok?

volt = 1.04
power limit = +10
core clock = 1100
memory= 1575

fan = 28% any more and it's too noisy

Looks fine to me, as long as it is stable at that voltage. I think my 7990 was a crappy clocker so i left it at stock and focused on getting the voltage down. Managed to get it operating at 80-85c per core per game in relative silence.

display driver stopped responding, but has recovered .... is that voltage too low Matt

Looks low to me.

Yep. I recommend leaving the gpu at stock clocks initially. Set 1000/1500 and use voltage 1.150v. Play games for a couple of hours. No crashes? Start lowering voltage in 12v increments until you hit instability. Then back off 6-12v. Once you know your base, then expand and start clocking. That's how i do it.

it's starting ok at 1.152, but was very twitchy at 1.13, so there aint a lot that you can do with it............ i may as well leave it at default 1.2..........no lets make it 1.175

because this mobo is a bit twitchy at the best of times, let along the GPU adding to my woes ! :eek:

lets hope the next AMD Dual card is more fun than this, because this 7990 is a bit of a bore :D

No, find the lowest possible stable voltage, then move it up one notch. Every little counts with a card like this. Come on Mal, nurture it.

in KOMBUSTOR it looks like only one gpu is working, it's saying cpu 1, i'm very confused here, how do i know it's working in crossfire mode

Mal stop using Kombuster right now. Use Unigine Heaven to test stability at max settings. Once you get stability in Heaven up voltage another notch or two and play some games. Demanding DX11 games are the best stability test.

i tested it now it sucks, it stopped working straight away, it went back and forth into a black screen and finally crashed

no the clocks are on maximum, as above !

power limit = +10
core clock = 1100
memory= 1575

the fan does not increase in rpm either

Ah, that's ok then. Whack voltage up a notch or two, might be close to full stability now.

ok i've turned it back to stock and it's at 1.120v

ok so you want me to overclock it again, but to me the FPS were the same as now
