AMD 7nm GPU News and Rumours 2018/2019

https://www.overclock3d.net/news/so...ing_results_for_amd_s_rx_590_look_promising/1

seeing stock 480 from 1250hz to 590's 1550hz , trying to imagen same chip on 7nm paired with gddr6 - would be awesome if it could reach 2000hz overclock. would be in line for GTX/RTX 2060 - hopefully cheaper!!!!

also wonder if another skunk works team ( initial TR team) is taking apart EPYC ROME and replacing with 7nm Polaris chips to see if MCM can work on GPUs.... One can dream

So, from 1266 MHz on a RX 480 up to 1680 MHz on a XFX RX 590. That is 33% frequency improvement quite good.
But imagine what could have it been if they rearranged the units configuration ( I mean added some ROPs, shaders, etc.) of that poor old Polaris chip :(

The rx480 was probably the best GPU I've ever owned tbh. The components on it were top notch.

The components on the PCB are one thing, the Polaris chip that trades blows with a much smaller GTX 1060 is something completely different. The 480 was a weak GPU.

That is all it will be a dream - MCM that moves away from the disadvantages of AFR/SFR rendering requires a completely new architecture approach - no amount of interconnect evolution or memory changes will facilitate it alone.

It should get past FuryX performance.

Yes. And they could have increased that frequency potential even further by rearranging the transistors - the chip is very dense - 5.7 billion transistors on a 232 sq.mm silicon, the GTX 1060 is 200 sq.mm but only 4.4 billion transistors.
Lower density means higher clocks.
If they don't touch anything else which is extremely weird given that supposedly automation design tools are beeing used.

XTR Aorus.. supply a lot of power through both 8 pins and kept it cool enough , damn good but to much power for that level of card but showed the chip could handle more, a lot more . Hopefully die shrink will allow the speed but half the power :D
Fingers crossed anyways

Btw has anyone seen the PS5 leaked presentation and specs? :D
If 11.2Tflop 7nm Navi is the next console GPU, what we would have on PC?
(other specs : hardware ray tracing, Zen2 6c/12t, support for new PSVR2)
