AMD 9800X3D ETA OFFICIAL THREAD

Hi there

I just checked with people who know internally:

OcUK check out with debit/credit card is the fastest checkout method and should appear in OcUK warehouse almost instantly unless payment declined or other item out of stock, on product launch always best to order the launch product SOLO.

Amazon/Paypal check outs, we don't see these until the API does the callback to us, hence these methods can cause a delay in OcUK getting the order, in times of high demand we have experienced their servers timing out and we never get the order and they can be slow at informing the customer of the failed transaction or never inform them.

Finance, wont get a queue position until it is approved, this can cause a considerable delay in us receiving the order, avoid on new product launches.

In short if your impatient, want to be as high up in the queue as possible make sure your payment method is debit/credit card using the OcUK checkout and select DPD next day shipping.
Well damn, I'll be waiting for a long time then. Order placed at 2:20, used PayPal, had a out of stock item (which I removed from the order since) and I have other items...

Good to know for the future so thanks for the info but yikes, a long wait coming for me

@Gibbo

What about us fools who added something else to the cart, but that is now showing as "out of stock" BUT was in stock when we ordered. Is that item put on a shelf for when the 9800x3d becomes available or am I waiting for both parts to be in stock + be at the front of the queue? I asked CS and they told me it would hold and ship with the CPU (but that was when it was in stock). SKU STO-CRS-01188 was the other item (Corsair nvme). Because I am a 14:28 kind of guy, the worst really lol

Any Royal mail enjoyers?

Order confirmed on 1402 of the 7th Nov.

Looks like I've missed out wave 1 release. Anyone else received their notification via RM yet?

Interesting to see the time discrepancy between order placed & order received at ocuk's end and payments used etc

I've ordered the CPU on its own with a credit card direct, and here are the timelines

14:02 Order made - online status page
14:04 Order confirmation email
14:15 Order received (Called up to check)

Disappointing as this would push me to second batch.

Also there still doesn't seem to be any Royal Mail dispatches, only DPD.

I just was told that X870E Nova is delaying my order :( it's the only sensible x870 chipset motherboard with good pcie lane split....oh well. now sit and wait...
There are others. (not many)
MSi x870 Tomahawk has a good split, none nerf the main PCIe slot for the GPU for example, filling 3 slots might slow down the bottom slot, and filling all 4 slows down the USB 4 and the 4th M.2 slot which is a PCIe 5.0 x4. just makes it x2 top m.2 slot still remains 5.0 x4 so unless you plan on having an insane amount of fast M.2 drives and need the full power of USB 4 it's great compromise imo.

I just called them, they can tell you when the order/payment was received. No guarantees on shipping or supply etc but does give you a ball park when yours was received.
I just tried this to find out time to manage my own expections.

The person on the phone said that it would be seconds typical for the differnece (I referenced paypal) and they cannot see the warehouse time, only system time it was recieved. I asked for the system time and they politely refused as they won't be doing it setting a presidence having to then do it for 1000 people

OC order confirmation email:

Date of order: 07.11.2024 13:59:05

Amazon Pay email:

Thursday, 7 November 2024 at 14:08:33 GMT

(Although didn’t receive this email until 14:57)

Royal Mail delivery selected

must have been one of the earliest to order and still no dispatch confirmation email.

Well this probably won't make you feel any better, but it's a great board. Got it sitting in a build next to me waiting for the 9800x3d.

I've got all 5 nvmes populated too.

I asked the exact same question in the other thread, and I was told to contact CS. Which I did and CS told me that the motherboard had been reserved for me and was just awaiting the CPU stock and it would go out. I'm questioning that a bit now though since my order was at 14:05:08 (paid with CC) and it doesn't look like I made it into the first batch of CPUs even though others with later order times seem to have.

Those SSD's are due in any day so should not pose an issue.

I'd not worry as I say a further 300-400 CPU's are due over the next few days.

Thanks - I'm not worried unless the motherboard (X870E Crosshair Hero) actually isn't reserved waiting for my order because if I have to wait for that to come back into stock as well even though it should be reserved for me that would be frustrating.

Would you know if it’s the payment date and time noted on the order summary from Amazon pay is when OcUK officially received the order? Or when the Amazon pay confirmation email got sent?

Time listed in Amazon pay email: 14:08:33
Amazon pay Emailed received: 14:57
Order placed: 13:59

Just would be good to know if I’m going to be waiting days or weeks/months

order confirmed at 14:07:37 but on the phone was told they received the order at 14:29 and I paid by direct debit plus 8£ for next day delivery. Speechless

Nice. I am still a beginner at DCS. for ages I was jumping in each plance just to mess around and while fun I had no idea what I was doing (still don't) so now trying to learn the F/A 18c and stick with it. one day I will learn how to power it up without help. :P

I know I have overkill. but after today I will have 3 2tb M.2s (I know I should get some 4tb drives, but I bought them all seperate and on sale.) an 8tb HDD for mass storage of my mooooovies and now another 2tb m.2 cause... why not? lol. I do have another 4tb HDD that I use for games that really don't need ssd speed, but not sure if I will even bother connecting up. more wires and faff.
also i never remember where any games are stored as I have too many drives. lol.
my advice is to learn 1 thing first and stick with it until youve got to grips with it, then move on to the next thing, the 18 is a great plane to start with as it does so much, more so than any other plane pretty much, so it gives you the basis for most other aircraft anyway. once you got the fundamentals down, you can pretty much hop into anything else and get going with minor adjustments(i/e switches in different places and so on), there's some great tutorials on youtube that cover things the in game tutorials don't cover, but my second piece of advice is to stick with it. its one of those things that you only get better at with time. check out growling sidewinder on youtube as he will show you things about dogfighting and bvr that other people generally just dont really cover, for instance 1 circle and 2 circle fighting. his channel is a great resource

what stick do you use?

These sound like very low numbers for a launch.

Although I'm not normally the kind to worry about FOMO and usually just buy when stock is plentiful.

But my gut feeling is that AMD has indeed pushed up the launch date due to the initial reception of the 9000 line up and that the consequence is that they haven't been able to build up enough stock for suppliers.

Nothing oc can do about it and I'm just happy with the transparency here.

to add a spanner to the works, i ordered at 1:56 using paid next day and using paypal, order confirmation at 1:58 and im in the first batch :P so dont read to much into it

I would be interested to know if anyone who has recieved a DPD order delivery email paid with PayPal/Amazon or is it only people who ordered with credit/debit. I tried to order with debit card but my banks authentication didn't load so I switched to paypal.

Order Date: 07.11.2024 14:11:55
Order status: Order Confirmed
Paypal email 14:12 "You authorised a payment to OcUK Limited... "this purchase will appear as a pending transaction until OcUK processes your order"
Thank you for your order email from OcUK 14:13 - does this mean that they received payment?

As other posters have said I would really like to know if I will be waiting days/weeks/months? Did any of the people who have received or had their order shipped pay with paypal/amazon?

Yes can’t say I’m best pleased with my times easier. Would be good to get some clarity on exactly which time they go on, ordering at 13:59 (OC order confirmation time) and seemingly not being in the first batch because of Amazon Pay.

I’m borderline thinking of cancelling my order if the Amazon pay email time of 14:57 is what it might be based off….. :(

Looks like the person right above you did.
