** AMD BACK IN THE GAME: PRICE DROP EXCLUSIVE TO OcUK!! **

We do not have so many of them and at £389 they are selling, because the rest of the UK is typically £500 and above.

The Fury has already sold 200 units nearly since dropping to £299, proving very popular indeed. :)

Hi Gibbo do you know if AMD are still sending out Fury chips to it's board partners or are the last cards from the Fury line up? Do you expect to be getting any more stock once these run out?

These are last cards, AMD are not manufacturing any more, they are only focusing on Polaris now, all other GPU's are EOL.

RX 480, then 470, then 460 and then maybe a new flagship end of this year (VEGA) or early next year.

Rumours of a dual GPU card (490) are not on my roadmaps, that does not mean to say it does not exist as I can see no reason why they could not very easily make a dual RX 480 card as the GPU's are only 110W each and then do 8GB and 16GB versions, I think it would be a hit, but is probably just rumour mill.

I can see me breaking down and ordering a Fury when they come in stock tomorrow... >_<

1070 and 1080 are too rich for my blood. RX480/1060 don't offer enough over my 290. 980/980Ti might not be as future proof for Vulkan/DX12.

I was hoping to get something a little cooler and less power hungry, but the Fury is ticking a lot of the right boxes for me now it's sub £300.

In the same boat, want to wait to VEGA but that could be ~8 months away still. Just not sure if a 290 to a Fury is enough of a step up. Was looking at the Nano a few weeks back when it was on offer but the chance of getting one with coil whine was enough to put me off them.

I had 2 x 290 ( XFX DD & ASUS DCUII) and a 970 G1. I've sold the ASUS 290 and the 970 them and now I'm thinking I might just pick up a 980ti for £300 to replace the 290 and 970. Problem is, the 290 is still a solid performer. The Fury looks solid but it's too close the 980ti prices, which are too close to 1070 prices. Fun times!

I cant believe how low the power useage is on the nano..
It does throttle a fair bit to stay within that limit (although you can give it up to 50% additional power if you choose and stop that), but it is impressive that it stays within 10% or so of the Fury X performance-wise despite that.

I'd really love to try a Nano, but I think it'd be too noisy for me. It doesn't help that reports of how aggressive the fan needs to be to stop it throttling are all over the place. Some say you can hit Fury X speeds with the default fan curve and zero throttling at around 2200RPM, whilst others claim you need to crank it right up to eliminate it. I assume the reality depends heavily on factors like case airflow and silicon lottery.

For me personally, I'd buy an RX 480 over a 390 and I'd buy a 390X over an RX 480.

However I'd buy a Fury Nitro RX 480 over a 390X, I believe as DX12 and Vulkan matures the Polaris architecture will progress better in performance and features.

I know I'm quite naive to the new cards, buts what's one of those ?

I had to correct your statement a little based on what i would do, but on the whole i agree.

I would not take a 390X or a 390 over an AIB 480. GCN 1.1 vs GCN 1.4. :)

I can see the WCCFTech and Videocardz Headlines now! (infact i'll write the article for you to save you the bother)

"AMD makes controversial comment!"

OCUK Forum member and AMD Rep AMDMatt earlier today said that he would not recommend their older generation GPU's over the new RX 480 (you can read our exclusive worldwide first look at this card here).

We believe this to mean that the new Vega series of GPU's are imminent, and not only that in a WCCFTech and Videocardz joint world exclusive, we can both jointly reveal absolutely sod all in the way of actual facts and information and just supply endless clickbait for all you hypers out there.

Furthermore AMDMatt's comments were his own and do not represent the view of the company he works for, but in true clickbait style, we dont care as we are going to spin this into another of our world exclusive hype pieces on Vega which we actually know ZERO about!!!

You read it here first folks.

Do you work for them? I think I recognise the writing style. Though normally you make more typos and obvious errors.

He also implied reference models were rubbish :)

reading some of the latest reviews the Fury can get very close to a 980 Ti at 1440p and at 4k can match it though we're all forgetting the 980 Ti can overclock like a beast and even at 1400mhz which all of them can do it'll beat a overclocked Fury easily whilst also having 6gb Vram vs 4gb. It would be a very hard choice at least for me to decide if I'd go with a fury or 980 Ti
