AMD Bulldozer Finally!

What bothers me is the relatively short life span of AM3+. Invest in AM3+ to run a substandard BD system, which will be replaced with FM2 and better BDs. Its a lot of money to spend on what will be a dead socket in a years time.

Just my opinions.
but FM2 could be delayed maybe to q4 2012 or even q1-q2+ 2013. so am3+ may have a year and a half.

nobody knows really.

also we don't know how much better FM2 BD will be (if any better).

It'd be like Agena to Deneb.
So FM2 BD will be iteration 2, such as Athlon to Athlon II. While it may not be called BD II, I'd be shocked if it isn't any better.
That's assuming that they don't make a BD iteration on AM3+ (Which, given it's supposed to be crippled for AM3+ and is widely speculated/reported, I doubt it)

How many times does Intel change sockets?...to be fair motherboards are not expensive and I find it easier and prefer to upgrade the board and CPU same time rather then just CPU,so its not an issue IMHO.

I hope for you lot waiting for BD, these are fake, however they're new as of today;

also it's not retail chip, its ES chip

That's such a flawed argument it's unreal, if it was a none B2 ES, yes I'd agree, but if it's a B2 ES, retail isn't going to be magically better.
Should we not listen to reviews because they don't use retail chips?

I also never stated the benchmarks were real, only what's appeared fresh today.
EDIT : It states stepping 2, but I don't know whether or not that denotes B2 or not.
If it was an OLD ES which is cripplied, I'd agree with you, but you can't say that's the case as a blanket statement.

tbh i never go by review sites ...

i always prefer user tests / info ect using retail products.

but thats a personly thing i guess.

While I admire that. Review sites are still there to gauge performance using ES chips. Whether it's ES or retail is largely irrelevant towards this end of the game, assuming the chips we're seeing are the latest ES which are review samples and not old ES chips which have issues, such as the B0 and B1.
EDIT : Do bare in mind, that 4.2GHZ I'm going to assume is the turbo, and when all the 4 modules are loaded, it's 3.6GHZ.

well i guess it's a personly thing but im only really interested in the retail product :)

I'm assuming you'll be buying regardless? I look forward to your overclocking results.

If BD's an upgrade from SB, I'll be joining the BD OC'ing ranks.

Which chip are you going for then, the 8150?

but surely it would have droped down has soon as the benchmark finished

The 8150's turbo is 4.2GHZ.
I'm going to assume that CPUZ's reading the turbo, meaning the results are at 3.6GHZ, which looks better than 8 cores at 4.2GHZ getting those results.

At 4.2GHZ it puts it behind Deneb, at 3.6GHZ it puts it ahead of Deneb.

The 125w thing has always been like that between Intel and AMD, Just because it shows its Max TDP is 125 doesnt mean that its going to use that all the time, and there is or will be 95w versions of BD am sure of that.

Pretty sure the roadmap chart thingy that floated up a few pages back had some 95W parts indeed - slower and/or less cores though :/

Still, if it thumps an i7 into the dirt, I'll be happy with a 125W BD (since that's what my Phenom II pulls while not even getting close on performance...) :)

The 8130p, which I assume is now the 8150 is the 125W part.
The others are 95W and lower.
